one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

Would you promote sites from a sponsor program which has a “bad” site amongst their collection of sites?

Bad can be anything from edgy content, young looking models, texts used or illegal content in some countries.

Does one bad site make the rest bad as well?

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

I’d say it certainly casts a shadow of doubt over the integrity of the other sites. Though, I think each case would need to be decided on its own merits.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

“Illegal in some countries” you need to go carefull of. I mean lots of sites are illegal in lots of countries. I look for legal in the USA and the UK. Oviously If I wasnt British Id look for legal in my country and the USA as lets face it, without the Americans on board, your stuffed.

I personally think guys pissing is probably obcene in the UK but I wouldnt stop promoting a sponsor who had a piss site, provided the sites I push wernt doing piss. If they had a scat site which is probably obcene in the US and they UK then they are a huge risk and your asking for trouble. When they go bust or go to jail, you should know that you wont get paid.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

Are those things illegal though, or just unsavoury to most tastes?

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

obscenity can get you 20 years in prison in the u.s., but it’s a murky area of the law. any site that is sexual and “unsavoury to most tastes” could possibly be found obscene in court.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

What Basschick said! Obcene in the UK (and I think In the US also) is down to what a Judge thinks. Basicly the test is: does the content, when taken as a whole, tend to corrupt and deprave a normal person. So the truth is no one knows what is Obscene and you have to go by past rulings. Scat has been prosecuted in the UK even though the case Im aware of involved fake scat, so yes thats illegal here for sure.

There is a thread here somewhere that linked to a BBC article that seemed to suggest that piss would be obcene in the UK.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

obscenity here is defined by community standards - which means that in a very right wing religious community, more things might be deemed obscene than here in los angeles. i believe that the jury is the bottom line, and they are also likely to be members of the community.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

From what I know Watersports / Piss isnt “illegal” in the UK. Scat most likly. But as you said, the guidelines are extremly vague.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

The content in question (illegal in some countries) is a cartoon site which features and clearly portraits CP / Underage toons. From what I know it’s illegal in the US even if its cartoons.

Its not run by anyone on this board, but something I came across.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

Lately, urination and golden showers have been ‘legal’ here in the US, though still a touchy subject. We allow piss videos to be submitted, though there are some companies that won’t touch it, which is understandable.

Here are the things AEBN does, and doesn’t allow:

Allowed
Oral sex in bondage
Toy use in bondage
Fisting in gay and straight
Clear (not blurry) images in reality or hidden cam
Vaginal/Anal contact with a human penis in bondage scenes
Pissing on or in another person
Sex in Fem Dom
Bukake

Not Allowed
Rape
Beastiality
Underage
Incest
Scat
Chloroform
Non-consensual Abduction

As for the test you were talking about,

For the most part, as long as you keep a level head and keep in mind how liberal (or not) your area is, and apply some sense to the matter; I think you should be alright.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

Another thought is that as I link list owner I like to see “new” stuff. If I get the same photo sets submitted over and over I have to start thinking about whether I want to approve them all or not. If you promote smaller sponsors or lesser promoted sponsors, you’re more likely to get your freesites approved.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

I personally would be careful not to promote any of their sites on the basis that they could end up in trouble and subsequently you might not be able to deal with them on their other sites / not get paid.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

Well this is the article Garry posted:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7439740.stm

But bestiality, necrophilia, rape and torture would still be considered obscene," he says, as would depictions of sexual gratification through lavatorial functions.

To me that seems to suggest it might not be OK. But “lavatorial” is pretty vauge. I would think pissing in someones mouth would be seen as obscene. I personally wont touch piss as its to up in the air for me. I really think they should be alot more clear and release maybe a white list of whats OK to webmasters and producers…

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

BTW I have written to My MP Sir Stuart Bell about this very subject, complaining that it stifles British Business and thats its unfair to ban something without actually saying what it is that your banning… I didnt even get a reply lol

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

lol you did? Nice one!

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

He is so lazy… He could have at least replied using the standard “your comments have been carefully noted”. Apparently the porn biz doesnt even warrant a second class stamp these days… I wonder if the Tories will take it up for me???

I hate to say this. But even though it may portray that, it is not illegal in the US. Pathetic maybe, but illegal no.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

i believe they made a law about this that keeps getting overturned and appealed.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

They may have. All I know that a few forms of anime, I believe (yaoi and magna?) do portray this to various degrees. In the US it maybe sick, but it’s not illegal. I BELIEVE Canada has stricter laws on this, though I am not sure.

I believe Chad posted about this a while ago when someone asked as well.

Sick. But, not illegal.

Re: one bad sponsor site = all sites bad

Yaoi = Male/Male
Hentai = Male/Female
Yuri = Female/Female
Manga = Paper publications

At least, that’s my understanding of it; though from what I’ve heard Yaoi is mainly geared toward straight women, with varying levels of shown ‘intimacy’ - mostly focusing on romance that’s more lacking in the straightforward approach of hentai.
