XVideos new requirements

To upload videos to XVideos they now require 2257 docs and ID’s for every model. As a company that was literally built off of content theft and piracy, would anyone actually hand these over to them, basically giving them the rights to do whatever they want with your content? For us personally, we have stopped all uploads and so have a couple of other companies I have spoken to.

I know it’s a little crazy but even with a copy of your 2257 that doesn’t give them the rights to do whatever they want with your content.

Don’t they also directly profit from memberships to their site using others content?

I wonder why they started with this new requirement?

I’d be ok if they did spot 2257 checks every few months for their content partners to their lawyers, but as it is now, we have stopped uploading to them as I have major issues doing this, including privacy.

They may not have the “rights” to use the content but that has never stopped them before and them having the releases would make it harder to dmca them and prove. There are also legitimate privacy concerns related to the models.

Yes they do.

From what i understand they got in trouble due to hosting all sorts of illegal content. But they made their own bed, don’t force others to lie in it.

Yes. I don’t mind sending the occasional release when asked, we do the same for Pornhub and have done it for them as well.

But asking for every release from every video we post or have ever posted is too much.

Maybe they do that because the credit card companies are forcing them ?

What about the following idea for a possible “workaround” ?

1. About protection against theft

Put a big red text with Photoshop on all the docs, like:

"DOCUMENT VALID ONLY
FOR PUBLICATIONS
ON XVIDEOS.COM"
(bold letters, vertically, almost all the size of the page)

2. About privacy of the models

2.1. Blurring some areas of the docs (address, numbers…) except the photo, name and DOB

2.2. Maybe add a red text at the end, like:
"For original, non-blurred documentation, the legally authorized entities can contact the Custodian of Records : (Name, Adress, Contact) "

Because if the concept of the “Custodian of Records” is existing, it is precisely in order to have only one place to keep that documentation, and not share it with all the websites republishing the content, isn’t it ?
So if the problem is that the banks or credit card companies (or even worse) are making “problems” to Xvideos, then these serious entities cannot complain and demand that the Custodian of Records provides all the doc in clear to Xvideos, no ?

I’ve worked with many banks, merchant accounts and billing companies over the last 20 years and have never once had them ask for all of our 2257 docs. I think there was one time in the last 20 years they asked us to verify a model’s age which we did immediately. So I have a hard time believing that they are being forced to do this.

If they were making tons of sales for us, I could see how maybe taking the steps you mention could be a viable workaround. But to be frank, their traffic isn’t doing much for us anyways, so I’d rather put our marketing effort towards the other tube sites that don’t require all that extra effort.

Isnt the problem with some of these tube sites that they push everything other than sponsor sites, like their own memberships and cams.

Yes, especially with XVideos. They don’t even give us a banner, the sales really only come from the possibility of type-ins on the videos. Before our videos even start they force viewers to watch 30 seconds of advertisements, and surrounding the video itself is nothing but banners and ads for other sites. On top of it, they require videos to be at least 8 minutes long. So you can probably see why this new requirement is the final straw for us and many other studios that used to upload for them.

That’s fucked up. All those requirements and not even getting full credit for your own content.
