Working with adult talent agents & scouts: what is a fair commission?

I’m thinking about working with adult talent agencies and scouts in order to hire some male porn performers for video work. I’ve never done this before and was wondering how it works. Do agents keep a commission of what the performer makes, like the agents for mainstream actors do? In the mainstream world I believe a 10 to 15% cut for the agent is the norm… is it the same for porn?

Or do porn agents charge a flat fee instead of a percentage? Any feedback on what these rates might be?

I realize there may not be one answer for this… different agents probably have different rates and procedures. I’m just looking for some general info so I won’t be totally ignorant when I start contacting agents.

I have a lot of people come to me for models since I have a fishing hole of thousands/all types. Almost always, they offer a flat referral fee. Typically around $300. I’ve never met a real porn agent.

We have only worked with agents on one or two occasions, and each time it was a flat fee.

I was just reading this thread and thought the same exact thing! But sometimes you need to work with agents/scouts at times. I think a good referral fee to pay an agent or a scout or anyone that refers a model to you would be anywhere from $100-$300 pending on what the model looks like.
