Whatever happened with Gayhoopla, Hotguysfuck and Blurbucks?

Some 10-15 years ago Gayhoopla used to sell like hot cookies and was among my top five best selling sites. Especially while they were on CCBill they sold really well.

Their sales went down somewhat when they switched to the NATS system (Blurbucks), but they were still happening. However, since they switched to this new (proprietary?) affiliate system on the Gayhoopla site itself, I have had ZERO sales for Gayhoopla, and I have no Idea how to obtain the new linking code (if it exists).

I still actually use the linking code from Blurbucks for Gayhoopla. Does that linking code work? From my point of view, they just totally destroyed their own sales by switching to that very strange and obscure affiliate system. I see no point in this switch because blurbucks still seems to work.

Today I got one new sale for their site Hotguysfuck, which probably came from a minor blog of mine where I advertise such sites that cater to those who want to watch straight guys and straight sex with the focus on the guy. The sale email notification apparently came from blurbucks NATS.

I have about 60 dollars in blurbucks and I wonder is they are still paying their affiliates? Has anybody received a payment from them recently?

Funny coincident. I emailed them yesterday about exactly what you mentioned.

Gay Hoopla for me has just stopped selling, but also tracking seems off, its a mix of old and new system. They did reply to me and sent me a screenshot with tracking of hits and sales form their new system but it’s showing a tiny amount of hits, clearly wrong. While their old NATS still track hits correctly but no sales. They haven’t responded again to my questions about this.

It’s just such a shame, they ruined their own site by using a custom system when NATS worked perfectly fine.

Hello,
Just pinged the dev team to meet tomorrow morning.
Should have some answers after that.

thanks for looking into it.

Hey all — quick follow-up on everything affiliate-related.

:white_check_mark: Yes, we’re still paying affiliates — both from Blurbucks (NATS) and our new in-house system.
:white_check_mark: Legacy NATS rebills are tracked and paid out as usual.
:white_check_mark: New in-house affiliate accounts are now live — we’re encouraging trusted partners to switch over for better tracking, tools, and visibility.

If you’re still using old Blurbucks links, we strongly recommend updating to the new system — we’ve seen much better performance and cleaner tracking overall.

How to get started with the new system:

  1. Create a free account on any of our sites (like GayHoopla or HotGuysFuck).
  2. Log in, click your profile icon in the top right, and select “Affiliate.”
  3. You’ll get access to your tracking links, stats, payout info, and tools.

:pushpin: Note: Due to a system limitation, our affiliate pool is currently capped. So if you’re interested in switching over to the new system, just reach out directly and we’ll enable your access manually.

We’ll continue combining any legacy NATS rebills into your new payouts, so everything stays seamless.

Thanks again for your feedback and support.

Thanks for the update.

That’s not what I see when I log into my account on Gayhoopla. When I click my profile icon on the top right side I get my affiliate menu (page) with only these three selectable tabs:

Affiliate info, payments, stats

There are no tools in that menu, so there is no way to obtain the linking codes. At least is far as I can see…

Hey Ben,

:pushpin: Quick note: Our affiliate system has a pool limit, so some accounts don’t see the full tools menu by default. If you’d like access to the new system (with linking code, etc.), just create a free account and send us the email you used to sign up. We’ll manually enable it on our end.

Let me know once that’s done and we’ll get you set up.

Best,
([email protected])

IMPORTANT:
To join the new affiliate system, you’ll need to create a new account using an email that isn’t already linked to your NATS/Blurbucks account.

This is the only way we can manually approve full affiliate access — including linking codes, tools, and stats.

Once that’s done, just shoot us a message at [email protected] with the new email, and we’ll activate it right away.
