What are the ramifications if I clear my cookies in Chrome?

I have 6,700 cookies stored in Chrome, and I’m wondering what are the ramifications if I just clear them out using the “Clear Browsing Data” feature.

Will I have to start entering login and passwords for all of my NATS affiliate accounts, for example? I would imagine those are controlled by the “Passwords …” section.

Are there any compelling reasons not to clear out all the cookies en masse?

Yes I’m pretty sure it will wipe the logins if not that at least all settings and options you have entered on any sites.

If you haven’t already, Yes, as Bjorn suggested, you will have to start re-entering all of those logins/passwords for sure.

Why not use a program like https://www.dashlane.com/ … it will automatically log you in and you can delete cookies. The only places you might have to take an extra step or two is at any banking site … without the cookie they don’t recognize the computer and will ask you one of your security questions.

For what it’s worth, I use a password manager and regularly keep my cookies and history clear.

Chrome is by far my fave browser, but in terms of password management it is poor. Safari is what I use for all affiliate accounts just because it does remember everything much better.

Good idea, it never occurred to me. Do you mind sharing the password manager you use?

I use Last Pass Premium for a long time. You can use the password vault on all your devices, so it’s very convenient if you travel with a netbook or only a cell phone.

One Password

Thanks! And it’s a Canadian company too, located not far from me.

I like their security method.
