Tutorial: How to post on a PBN to maximize your results
Okay, so let me start with a little introduction before getting to the meaty parts.
It?s a well known fact that over the last 15 years ? and almost as long as I?ve been in internet marketing - a couple of things changed in Google?s algorithm, but the two things that changed very little are:
a) On Site SEO ? Google likes sites that are easy to read for its spiders and that match an user?s query
b) Links to the sites ? Even if Google tried some algorithms that do not take under account links, those failed miserably

So, what can we learn from that?
Well, if Google has made it abundantly clear what they want with the on-page in their webmaster guide, the link question is still at large. How can you ensure that the links are going to benefit your site and not harm it?
There are some people out there that say linkbuilding is dead, you all know them. Heck, I even saw ?seo companies? that say they only do on-site because link building is prohibited. R U kidding me? =))
Thing is that when you build any sort of link strategy, you need to take under account a couple of things:

  • Number of links that the sites ranking #1 on your chosen keyword have
  • Their anchor text profile
  • The link velocity
  • The metrics of the sites that send links to the site ranking #1
  • The niches of the sites that send links to the site ranking #1
Why go through all of this trouble? Simple: because Google?s algorithm is different depending on niche AND language.
Let us take the adult or gambling niches, which are the ones that I?m an expert on.
In the adult and gambling niches, there is quite hard to rank sites organically without a good link building strategy. After analyzing tons of websites, taking under consideration all that I saw before, I was shocked to see that a more aggressive link building strategy is the thing that works. A link building strategy that if I were to use on another niche, let?s take shoe selling niche, would get the site penalized.
On the other hand, let us talk about the difference in language. The more ?uncommon? the language is, the more chances you have to rank the site using so called ?aggressive? link building strategies. This, again, from my experience working in several languages.

Now? to the good part. How to truly maximize your PBN links to make you rank #1 safely and easily.
There are a few aspects to consider:
a) The quality of the PBN
b) The niche of the PBN
c) The OBL on the page you?re going to get your link on
d) What Google finds rank worthy in your particular niche and language aka no. of links, the metrics, the anchor text, and all of the factors I talked above.

Let us take each aspect and talk about it
a) The Quality of the PBN
If you own the PBN then you?re in luck ? but only if you did a good job building it and maintaining it.
If you don?t own the PBN, then no worries, the same rules will apply.
What to look for in a good quality PBN?

  • Sites should all be aged
  • The metrics of the sites (TF/CF, DA/PA, whatever you like to measure the site) should be either equal or higher than the metrics of your site ? so that it will help you grow; side note: it is also good to ensure that the PBN metrics are high enough to give you an edge over your competitor?s links
  • Sites should have low OBL (outbound links) aka 30 or less on the homepage at around 10/15 on the post pages
  • Sites NEED to be on various hosts ? if you think that one host for all the sites on the PBN doesn?t leave a huge footprint then you can say ?hello manual penalty? right now
  • Sites should look as real as possible
  • Sites should have traffic + comments + new links sent to them to ensure they keep their metrics
    b) The niche of the PBN
In the last couple of years, Google placed more and more accent on having links from within your niche. What does this mean? That if your site has shoes to sell and you?re getting tons of links from a site that?s about gardening or dogs, Google won?t see this good and no matter how strong the metrics of the site sending you links are, Google will not truly take it under consideration that much.
Conclusion: always go for a PBN that has content in your niche.
    HOWEVER?.
    There are a few exceptions:
  • PBN is a generic one and covers a lot of topics
  • PBN will create a page/post written for your niche specifically and link from that
    c) The OBL of the page you?re going to get links from
The number of outbound links a site sends is highly important. Why?
Let us assume that a page has a score of 100 in power. If it sends 1 link, the power divides by 1 so the page it send the link to gets 100% of the power. If it sends 2 links then the power divides by 2 so the page it sends the link to gets 50% of the power and so on with 3, 4, 5, 6 etc.
    What does this mean?
The more outbound links a page has, the less power the page you are getting a link to will get.
Now, the 100 example is just an example. Sites usually have a number of OBLs, more are on the homepage and less on the inner pages of the sites.
As a general rule, do not buy PBN links from sites that have more than 30 OBLs on the homepage and more than 15 on the post pages (aka the page your link will be on).
The main idea is: less OBLs the better as you will get much more power from the links.
    d) What Google finds rank worthy in your particular niche and language aka no. of links, the metrics, the anchor text, and all of the factors I talked above.
Let us assume that you buy 100 PBN links and you send them all to your site and there is only one anchor text aka the keyword you want to rank on. Is this good?
Yes and no at the same time. Here?s why:

Yes because you will make your site highly relevant for that keyword
No because if the PBN links are the only links you site will get in a certain period of time it will look very suspicious for Google

So what should you do? Do your homework!
Know exactly spying on your competition:

  • Number of links that the sites ranking #1 on your chosen keyword have
  • Their anchor text profile
  • The link velocity
  • The metrics of the sites that send links to the site ranking #1
  • The niches of the sites that send links to the site ranking #1
What can you learn from that?
How many links to buy from the PBN and what anchor texts to use and in what proportion aka will it be 30% on keyword, 50% naked url and 20% generic anchor text? Or another proportion?

How I do it: how to post on a PBN to maximize the results
First of, I am one of the lucky ones because in the adult and gambling niches I have 2 pretty large PBNs that are build using paranoid level aka they look and behave like real sites.
However, even so, what I like to do is this:
I post on my PBNs links on the exact keyword I want to rank on BUT at the same time I also build other sorts of links (using custom scraped GSA lists that allow me permanent links) during the period I send the links from the PBN.
Also, I always drip feed my PBN links over a period of 1 month.
Why do I do this?
Several aspects:
a) With the PBN I get the strongest links to the keyword I want to rank
b) With the other links I make sure that the anchor text mix matches the one of my #1 competitors so I trick google into thinking it?s all natural
c) By drip feeding the links over 1 month I achieve a natural looking link profile and I do not put too much pressure on my network hence I do not leave footprints

Of course, sometimes I also mix things and I use let?s say 100 PBN links to drip feed over 1 month but I send links on naked URLs or generic anchors and only a handful of links on the keyword I want to rank on. However, the articles on the PBN are always written around the keywords I want to rank on and so I maximize the results.

Ok guys, long read, I know it, but that?s the way I do it.
I just wanted to share how I do it, I?m not saying it?s the only way or the best way, but it?s the way I found works best and doesn?t get my PBN penalized, and gives me the best results that are long term ? think 3 years worth of long-term results.

If you find this post useful gimme a ?like? and if you have any questions, please let me know.
And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: if you have other ideas and other strategies, let?s share so that everybody can benefit
Cheers,

Hi there 530 … Welcome to the Gaydemon forum for webmasters marketing Adult entertainment!

That’s quite an in depth article about keywords and linking strategies. If I may ask, what do you do in the business? Do you run blogs or other types of promotional media as an affiliate, run/own a paysite, provide services to the adult industry … etc?

Re: Tutorial: How to post on a PBN to maximize your results

Sorry to be ignorant but maybe you need to explain what PBN is? Otherwise its bit of a random post.

Re: Tutorial: How to post on a PBN to maximize your results

I think PBN refers to “Private Blog Network”.
For anyone who doesn’t know, this is the process of building several blogs used as something of a “buffer”. You link to those from outside, then link from those to your main site. This allows a kind of plausible deniability. The theory is that they act as a filter. You can link in and out of the blogs however you like and if anything ever goes wrong and you start being penalized it only impacts that/those blogs and you can start again, clean them up or extend the network with new untainted blogs.

It’s a good method. It actually works. But you need to make sure you cover all the signals about those blogs (such as publicly available info on registration of them, you don’t want Google to see that they all belong to the same person, on the same IP, etc)

To be honest, you might as well just run a few great blogs, with great content, and not try to be “grey hat” or lazy about it. The impact is the same and you end up with a circle of good sites that might actually be worth something.

I definitely agree with 530 on the needless fear of linking out. Affiliates are renowned for being scared to link to anything that doesn’t make them money, but the impact of linking to useful content has the opposite effect. In my experience, it boosts your ranking and traffic when you link to useful outside sources and aren’t solely focused on only linking to content that has a chance of getting you a sale.

Re: Tutorial: How to post on a PBN to maximize your results

sounds like a lot of work

Re: Tutorial: How to post on a PBN to maximize your results

I think it’s worth it.
Once you have the blogs set up you can update them maybe once or twice a week and see the benefits within a couple of months. The difficult task is finding related content to publish that isn’t all leading back to the primary domain.

I was going to ask the same question but hesitated because I assumed maybe this is a term everyone else knows of.

I also seem to remember learning in one of my early writing classes to ONLY use acronyms after first defining them.

Re: Tutorial: How to post on a PBN to maximize your results

true… but you know to sound more compentant, extravagant and more successfull a lot of dipshits just use acronyms, or in my country english words with do not make sense at all when put into contect, just to sound more savvy
