I know it’s a fashion and young guys like it because all the girls shave and want them to shave too and it’s much more hygienic (why don’t they shave their asses, then?) and yadda yadda yadda, but it’s a real turn-off to see guys who look like little kids having sex. Let them grow at least a trimmed bush instead of all these highly non-erotic smooth crotches, before calling them to a photo shoot. I know it’s not always possible with those come by and get over with it models, but if you hire regulars, it shouldn’t be such a big deal. After all it’s a business and they earn money from their modelling.
I’ve discussed this topic with a couple of guys and actually so far I found nobody who thinks it’s a turn-on watching porn models in kid style. For most of them it doesn’t even fit their appearance, it just looks ridiculous and stupid. Come on, grown-up guys with manly bodies and muscels and everything, and even if they are only twinks, who look like 10 year olds down there.

When I check my favourite sites and find the newest update is once again a shaved model, I just close the window and wouldn’t even consider to buy a membership. It has just become too much a turn-off to see them all over the places. It becomes even harder to promote such models. I just can’t come up with something positive to say about them.
More and more (or almost exclusively now) I switch back to my collection from 10 years ago, when guys looked hot and natural, when I want a bit of relaxing entertainment.
Attis I totally agree with you. In fact I made this exact point on my Twitter this week as I also noticed more and more studios now shaving their models (including legs) to look like little kids.
Surely by having models looking younger and younger doesn’t this also encourage the “wrong” type of member to join a site? It’s feeding into a very unhealthy and worrying fantasy and should be discouraged. Whenever we shoot models I always ask them to trim NEVER shave pubes and never to shave off things like leg hair.
Just also to highlight my comment re the “wrong” type of member, I highlight this comment recently made on a scene in which both models were totally shaved. Surely this is not the of member anyone wants on their site (Ive removed the models name):

I agree with all the comments so far - bring back the bush! Pubic hair is beautiful and I feel that guys look better with hair in their genital region rather than being shaved completely. Trimmed is fine too, but it seems more and more guys are completely shaving down there and it’s not a good look. Pubes are hot and I think we should be embracing pubic hair. I know we all look at things differently, but this in my perspective and it’s nice to see others thinking the same thing.

I do know in the US the majority of people prefer unshaved, but that isn’t really what I’ve found to be the case in Asia and Europe. One comment I’ve seen on our Asian sites more than a few times is requesting that the guys shave their pubes and ass. It’s not my thing, but if the studios are European or Asian and targeting those markets, there might be a reason they are having them shave? I think it all depends on who you are selling to – obviously it would not go over well if a guy on TitanMen.com shaved, but on Bel-Ami some people would probably like it.
I think that’s why I stick with “younger” MODELS who aren’t yet “influenced” by “adult industry standards” not to mention sales from “bush” and “long hair” far outsell anything “muscle” and / or “crew cut” that I produce.
I hear people say it’s good “hygiene.” I usually reply with “so is a shower.” Straight guys that like to “muff dive” seem to prefer “shaved” and I wonder if it’s because they are too lazy and don’t want to be bothered with nature’s dental floss or prefer “young” pussy. The latter being scary. I seriously doubt that women expect a man to be shaven, they’re guys, guys have hair unless you’re a bodybuilder and like that look. It’s essentially up to the individual themselves and their preference. Not sure who, where or how all of this shaved crap started.

Guys, gay or straight, if they don’t like pubic hair for whatever reason, don’t date a person that has it or try to force your own ideals on them.
As for models, even on our application, we ask if shaved, trimmed or natural. Unfortunately, here in the states, shaved seems to be the “in thing” and I usually show them the “out thing” (being the door) and invite them back when they become a man.
Many 18-22 year old twink porn models may be very insulted at being told they look like children… just for shaving their pubes because it’s “popular culture”.

I can tell you from my personal experience that all the guys in Barcelona where I live shave. Many go a step further and actually wax or use one of those hair pulling machines.
It’s very hard for us to even get a model to stop shaving pubes, and it almost never happens that any of the guys have any hair at all when they first turn up for castings… the only thing we can do is put it into contracts for exclusive models but even then we are not about to kick out a model like Hoyt Kogan if he turns up shaved…
It really comes down to the type of sites you run and what your members are looking for. For me, it’s just a personal thing. I prefer to see pubes. Trimmed is fine.
The majority of our sites really don’t cater or appeal to the shaved audience is the best way I can explain it. Can you picture Rocco Steele, Brock Rustin Cam Christou, Jon Shields, Ray Dalton with shaved pubes on HDK? Look at pre-condom models from the 70/80s. I agree, times have changed. Depending on the site and the model has a lot of influence.
Ugh. When I worked for fratmen the guys were told “do not shave or trim” and they’d show up looking like Bo Derek over their dick. We sent more than a few guys home and told them to come back when it had grown back.

Agreed. Trimming is a must, especially on naturally hairy dudes. But no shaving please! A big dick muscled model looks terrible with no pubic hair. I do believe that the style is swinging back the other way now, about half of the female pornstars have trimmed bush now too. The top selling girl from last year, Adriana Chechik rocks a dark trimmed bush. So there is hope for professional naked men too.
