Stats, Tour, and Sales

I’m not sure what to make of stats as they relate to my tour and sales.

About 2 months ago a number of people gave advice on how to make my site and tour better. With only a few exceptions, I made the changes and sales have been growing monthly. With help from you all, my traffic has been increasing steadily as well.

My issue is that overall my stats have gotten worse as far as sales per click raw and unique even though the number of sales has gone up. I’m happy to make more money and very grateful for the affiliates that are sending traffic. A few people have said that my tour is still ugly but better than before. However, my stats for sales with the old tour were better.

How do you balance sales/click ratio stats against actual sales?

BTW - It is nice to see another person ask about what makes a good tour in another thread as there is still lots of room for mine to improve.

Re: Stats, Tour, and Sales

Sales have been uncharacteristically unpredictable the last few months.

The traffic each affiliate brings you has it’s own conversion ratio for your site.

At this point I would focus on each affiliate and their conversion ratio to get a better understanding of your overall conversions. You could have 5 affiliates getting a 1:100 conversion ratio with their traffic and one with a 1:1000 conversion ratio and that affiliate would be bringing down your overall numbers.

I hope I understood your question correctly

Re: Stats, Tour, and Sales

Squirt is correct, the quality of each traffic stream has a relationship to the conversion ratio and can certainly sway a total overall conversion ratio.

One can receive far less traffic from affiliate A, but because it is better targeted traffic, the conversion ratio will generally be far better. Affiliate B can send 10 times the amount of traffic, but because it is less targeted or maybe coming from where the user is enjoying the porn he just left for free, which may not be targeted, the conversion ratio may not be as good. I think we understood Paul’s question correctly.
