State of affiliate marketing

Received this email from an affiliate in response to an inquiry about doing a rev share deal. Not sure what to make of it; any thoughts?

"We sell ads bro, and always will. the pop-under costs 5k a month and has been sold for 3+ years now to the same person like just about all ads. I will think but I do not even like to work as an affiliate unless I get 35-40$ a 1$ join PPS (even then I worry about issues on the sellers end) revenue share type models like this are long dead and so easy for me to make my own CCbill type models or in fact even PPS models now I could just keep 100%

At some point when everyone is dead or other issues I will have to take over the ‘sales’ end myself but the problem is that is not very hard to do while making any big profits your way is almost impossible or not worth the time, and frankly kind of easy and low cost now to do myself.

I will think about this and let you know but I will never ‘feature’ a revenue share model and if and when I do promote Any affiliate program it will be PPS and the 1-3 that make me the Most money from each click (really only 1-2 programs on earth that could even come close to making me the amounts of money needed to even operate. Its the same old problems man these ideas are 30 Years old and not worth almost anyone time that runs any type of real/big program. Some will Lie and BS about this but they run little crap sites that use 30 year old ideas too so basically DEad too

Really the problem is I need to make Money, HUGE amounts of MOney just to cover the HUge Cost to run a Modern program and we have for the most part a lot of guys that live in 1995 that are impossible to work with because they need to generate 500times the amount of income for us and they just sit around and make excuses why everyone should be happy to make the nickles they offer at the same time lose just about 100% control over every site and all traffic.

HUGE issues and needs and you guys want to offer me a 1995 reshare model? Can you see how 20+ year old ideas would piss me off? This is not back to the future here if you guys can not do What ever it takes to make 500times more income its over and from what I have seen I believe it is Impossible for them (other than Mark maybe) to even try. So I ask you if I was going to promote any of this why would it not just me Mark where I can make 100times the amount of income. every click I do not send him and send some place else loses me MOney so why would I keep doing that? Why would I work with any of these? You know we sell ads so I do not have to deal with antiquated ideas and issues with sponsors adjusting sales, and other than maybe working a bit more with Mark and opening my own Sales options to make up for the incompetence I do not see any of this has any type of future even for Broke 18yo college kids its Dead and been dead for 10-15 years now

Rev-share has been Dead for 15years at least Only Grandfather programs stuck in 1995 even offer this, and the same guys that sit around and bitch how the World has changed on them just like your Grandparent might do. PPS was the new idea 10+ years ago, but NOW good program buy ads like a Real company does and take responsibility for their own marketing and income generation. Anyone that tells you anything else is lying to themselves or you and frankly it Pisses Me Off. I am sorry I do help some people out but this is more Charity than anything else and I do not run a Charity program its a for profit Porn Company. Really do think it was a Horrible idea to move into this biz when you did so who ever gave you that advice was ether a Idiot or a Lying so ether way I would Stop taking their advice and ether try too join us in 2015 or IMO the best idea is to find another industry that is more stable and profitable than this one and that at this point is just about Ever damn industry on the face of the earth. As we can not get public executions that we need we might deal with the Zombies until like in all good movies they run out of Brains to eat and starve to death. FYI 1995 will Never come back so stop acting like it will

Really I hate to be a dick man but we have Million of viewers, and Super great traffic and had this for Many Many years, and when programs make less money than I would make working at Burger King its time for CHANGE and not my Change as I only reflect Reality and the market place like all other damn sites run by anyone that is not a 65yo Man living in a efficiency apartment Truly making less money each hour than a Burger King worker but this Lies to make themselves sound better. All I can say is buy ads and make program that you can buy ads with. If you can not do this then I would sell my program while maybe you can still get a few bucks. The Future moves Forward it does not stand still nor does it move Backwards. Oh and to make it out here now you have to have BALLS and take huge legal and other Risks if your not willing to do these things your in the Wrong industry. The days of that crap ended about 2003-2005 RIP and when Most of the programs around made all these REbill that keep them alive now, this is why we all call them Zombies! They really are Zombies living off past ideas and work that have been LONG dead and have no future other than holding the few alive back"

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Let me guess… his name is Shane / MaxPower ? I have this feeling …

Re: State of affiliate marketing

GayBoysTube for sure. Can tell by the response.

Shaun

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Whoever it is, he has no idea what he’s talking about. Revshare is by no means dead, it’s very much alive. That he isn’t willing to do revshare simply means he’s got low quality traffic.

It does sound like Maxpower / Shane / Shaun, he used to send me emails about how I need to sell my business because I don’t know what I’m doing and that affiliate marketing is dead…

Thanks for clearing that up Bjorn. Anyone else have similar sentiments?

Re: State of affiliate marketing

I’m surprised that your even considering this persons suggestion. That email is totally delusional. He’s asking you to pay a large amount of money for advertising without any proof that you will get anything out of it, simply because he feels the rest of the adult business is “zombies” and don’t know what we are doing.

Take a good look at his site and ask yourself if you think it’s safe to be associated with him after that.

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Are you actually considering to do business with MaxPower / Sean?

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Just few notes about MaxPowers / Sean / Shaun:

 • He’s an heavy drug addict
 • He’s clueless
 • He wanted to sue every tube owners because his was the brain behind the tube invention
 • His site is full of stolen videos
 • He rejected DMCA by saying that the video has to be register with the BLA BLA BLA in the State of California etc etc

Re: State of affiliate marketing

I stopped reading after: “We sell ads bro …”

Bro? Anyone who starts off an email about doing business with “bro” isn’t worth the time it takes to read his 1042-word rant. Then when I scanned down and thought it might be from Max Power, I definitely didn’t go back to read it.

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Despite his claim that the business has changed, reading that indicates that his spelling and grammar skills have not.

Steve

Re: State of affiliate marketing

I don’t know who he is, or who he thinks he is…But from trying to read that tirade, he sure sounds a twat!

Re: State of affiliate marketing

if its not that maxpower guy can i take a guess??

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Sure, it’s a free world …

Did you read the five page mispelled rant BRO?

Yeah, I don’t put much stock in this email. I’ve done quite well setting up revshares with all the major players in the industry. There are a few who bang on about ONLY 50 dollars PPS, but it isn’t that common thank god.

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Those guys usually have the most unproductive traffic.

Re: State of affiliate marketing

uggg I totally agree with the Bro comment… it sounds like a straight guy who is also a douche bag:no:

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Gay or Straight, Douche Bag sure fits the description!

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Not anymore I’m not. Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

Re: State of affiliate marketing

Dear Lord, I remember MaxPowers from that old defunct message board from 2007… it was owned by some guy named Lee… whatever happened to all of us… oh the humanity

After reading the WHOLE rant I am like "I’ll have what he’s having… " that whole post was kinda random though
