Stat Counter Users question

Does anyone who uses Stat Counter service know if the “program” tracks surfers activities inside the site? For example is there a thumbnail or link that gets clicked more than others?

Do you find that the Stat Conter does as well as google analytics for reporting where surfers came from, key words, and where they went to?

Now that my tour is redone and site reformatted, as many of you suggested, I have been actively seeking more traffic and would like this type of information to make future changes as needed. From previous posts, it looks like Stat Counter and Google are about the two that most of you seasoned professionals use.

I’m also open to learning of any other programs that I may have missed.

Thanks.

Re: Stat Counter Users question

do you use server stats to determine which thumbs are clicked the most and so on?

Re: Stat Counter Users question

Currently the only stats I get are from CCBill for affiliate clicks and referrals. They don’t tell me much except sale ratios.

When I set my site up the web guy who helped out advised against collecting stats as a security risk and warnings from toolbars that scare surfers off. With all the sites I have visited from this forum, I have never had a security warning pop up and I know that many of you use tracking and stat gathering software.

I’m also currently on a shared hosting with godaddy and they do not allow any server-side programs. I’m planning to swith to Hosthead dedicated server when I get back home and have spoken to Brad about pennywize vs strongbox. He tells me that they can install any server side program I like.

Re: Stat Counter Users question

oh, you’re on godaddy hosting? not good - godaddy has rules against porn. i hope you have backup, because at any time, they could pull down your site.

maybe for now you can move your site to nakedhosting.com - their “insane” plan is only $12.95 a month and has tons of storage and a good amount of bandwidth. they also come with built in stats.
