Not many people saying Yahoo! at Yahoo!

A day after laying off about 4 percent of employees and shuttering Yahoo Video, a screenshot leaked on Twitter that revealed Yahoo is planning to cut (or “sunset”) eight Yahoo products: Yahoo Picks, AltaVista, Alltheweb, Yahoo Bookmarks, MyM, Delicious, Yahoo Buzz, and MyBlogLog.

And remember as of earlier this year Yahoo! Search is now run by Microsoft - so it’s basically the same as Bing.

I was reading that earlier. And to think that they ALMOST got Facebook for $1bil.

Re: Not many people saying Yahoo! at Yahoo!

You I use Delicious — there’s one more fun Internet program that was mishandles and scotched by Yahoo. What’s next, Flickr?

Altavista? It is an important website of the internet history! https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/AltaVista
Damn, the first search engine I used ever and who really worked :frowning:

Re: Not many people saying Yahoo! at Yahoo!

Yahoo wrecks things it operates. Yahoo mail is spam blocked. They used to have a Facebook/Myspace look-a-like, but they got rid of that.

Whenever I’ve tried to work through support on Spam issues, I’ve gotten the typical “India” style responses, so it is no surprise that it is imploding.

Re: Not many people saying Yahoo! at Yahoo!

This is bad news, narrowing the market yet again.
Any SE other than Google being in trouble is seriously bad news. IMO
