New to the Forum and #2 on Google

Hey guys! I just joined the forum… I run Boy’s for Breakfast which is currently #2 on Google Search for “Gay Porn Blogs”.

I have found there is actual quality in this forum, a rarity on gay porn forums these days. So I was wondering what you guys honestly thought of my blog?

It’s been online since 2004 and has seen the likes of Thumblogger and Blogger I went to private hosting in 2006 and to a dedicated server around 2008, on a 2000 GB a month server but was burning that up in 1/2 of a month so I had to find a new higher bandwidth capable carrier which I’ve been with for almost a year.

The difference between a lot of gay porn blogs and Boys for Breakfast is that I stream my own 25+ MB Flash movies without relying on 3rd party tube sites to host my trailer promo videos, of which, always seemed to go down after awhile.

So please be honest. I think your blogs look good and would like constructive criticism how you think I could improve my blog. It already have great ratios, but always looking to improve it’s design.

Thanks!

Welcome and thanks for joining, spoken to you before though.

I really like your blog, it looks good, got varied content and a good mix of images and self hosted videos. Can’t really fault it.

hey Brad, good to see you here! The only thing I see wrong with your blog is that there is no HunkMoney / BritishBucks / LatinoBucks content on it

Re: New to the Forum and #2 on Google

Hi Brad, just sent for a link exchange.

I’m not an experienced webmaster such as yourself, but I do have a hunch about the blog. Altogether, it feels current, connected to what people want, with a strong relationship between the blogger and the surfer. While this is a less technical and hard to measure aspect (compared to SE details, etc.), I think it has a strong ability to attract. Who would dare to put their humble portrait across the top of their blog? Somehow you do it and it doesn’t look like you’re showing off. It connects to everyday people, which is pretty much what all of us are. That’s powerful.

Design is an area that’s so diverse and personal. It’s hard to say anything unless something stands out like a sore thumb in either a good or bad way. From what I see, the design works. It’s chock full of things, which always risks becoming too busy to look at. However, what you have right now works fine and gives surfers a variety of things to sample. It adds to a lively blog.

Ok. Thanks Guys! Any ideas on how to get more traffic? I noticed that some twink blogs were trading traffic with TGP’s. Are they just utilizing a traffic trade script with a php call to arrowtrader or whatever script they’re using in their blog theme?

Any creative ideas?

The ones who trade with TGP’s normally run them tgp’s themselves. TGP owners wouldn’t want a blog sending a small amount of hits and messing up their script/productivity

Hey!

I just submitted a link exchange

I don’t know what’s up with me and captchas, but that one was hard!

I think your blog is great, nice, high quality photos. It seems some posts are unique and some aren’t, right?

The affiliates that have the best conversion rates for us are those that get personal with their readers, even uploading their own pics and things of that nature. They write kick-ass reviews of sites and really get people to value their opinion… Of course that’s not always possible, but good to throw it in!

Re: New to the Forum and #2 on Google

I would also change your h2s so that the links are underlined. Some “silly” surfers might get annoyed.
