So based on a previous thread here I went ahead and contacted Dating Factory about an idea I had for a hook-up site and they rejected it! They said it was too narrow a niche.
My idea was a dating site for guys interested in handjobs only. So if you wanted to get or give a handjob you could log on to my site and find another guy to hook-up with in your area who is also into handjobs (i.e.: “sexual massage”).
Now you may say that you can already do this with current dating sites and this is true, although you usually have to chat with someone to determine if their sexual activity desires match yours. With my site you would know up front that everyone is into handjobs. I thought my site could also attract straight and bi men who want to get off but don’t want to go all the way with another guy (kissing, fucking, blowjob. etc.). Even straight women could join the site if they enjoy giving handjobs.
Some of you old-timers may remember that private “jack-off” parties were all the rage back in the 80’s as everyone started to seek out more safe-sex alternatives. I have many great memories of attending these events. Even though they’re not as popular now I still think there are enough guys into handjobs to support a hookup site like this. But unfortunately Dating Factory disagrees.
I think the sponsor is right. It’s too narrow a field to get much interest.
Let’s say 1 in 100 guys loves getting handjobs only, most guys want more I think. Now spread those guys over the entire world. You’d need massive numbers of members signing up to make this a worthwhile venture.
A guy could achieve a lot more by posting in his favourite profile site and then indicating in his profile “guy who like giving handjobs move to the front of the line.”
The success of a profile site will hinge on how much action its members get. If you’re paired things down to such a limited field, it’s going to fall flat. I mean, how is that one guy in Elk’s Butt, Idaho going to hook up with another guy in his area who likes to give handjobs.
I really agree, it’s too streamlined, too specific.
All I can say is I am not “traveling” for a handjob. I can do that myself and it’s usually better than what I get when someone else does it to me. Host. Maybe. But nine out of ten times when someone says I just want to (fill in the blanks) it usually ends up in full sex.
Actually… It’s not such a small niche as you might think. I recently noticed several such clubs, where members meet up or even have dedicated meeting places. For example:

Sounds like a good idea to me, maybe just do the site on your own with a script. Handjobs to me sound boring but i know tons of people into just that and know people shooting just that as content as a niche which surprised me and its in demand so must be a decent enough market. Just go it alone without dating factory Not much bad could happen
Well the reason I was interested in Dating Factory was because they do all the site design and hosting, skimming off a percentage of sales. I don’t think I have the time to start up a site on my own from scratch. If anyone knows of services like Dating Factory let me know!
It never really died out guys… just got covered up with all the rest of the porn (niches) that’s out there! I still see a lot of it on my community sites.
