Every now and again I come across sites using very recognizable music in their videos. Surely the record labels don’t license these songs out for use in porn. Yes? No?

I sincerely doubt they’re using it legally. Like so much copyright infringement, they’re hoping to stay under the radar.
One funny music story though. I have a friend who used to run a small Internet radio station (perhaps 40 listeners during his shows).
One evening I put in a request for “a song appropriate to edit porn by”. He promptly played Pet Shop Boys’ “Opportunities: Let’s Make Lots of Money”.
Great song, too.

funny thing is that one of the programs who uses an ac/dc song says they’re very against copyright infringement.

Yeah, music is yet another type of media that some people think they can just use for whatever they wish. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves actually. If I ran into a site that was using my music, they’d get a notice immediately. Just like if someone was using my videos or anything else.

Of course I’ve come across probably a dozen sites that are likely using illegal music but cannot remember most of them.
I’ve heard Madonna, Brittany Spears and other popular artists being used and lesser known artists like Underworld, Calvin Harris, Lilly Allen…
Normally it’s smaller sites & lesser known artists that are kind of under the radar, but “It’s Gonna Hurt” and their other site are pretty visible right now so that’s why I mentioned them.
