Most Dubious Promo Pics

Thought I’d start a thread of sponsor “misses” when it comes to promo pics. You know those photos where you think “that was seriously the best photo they could come up with for this scene?”

I don’t mean this to be critical - just funny. I mean good sites and good sponsors get it wrong sometimes and it’s best to just have a chuckle and move on. But it is a bit of a poke in the ribs to sponsors to actually look at what they’re putting out and ask if it needs improvement… Better promo materials = more sales, right?

So the photo that made me think WTF? today was this one…

I mean it’s nice and high res, and the guy’s ass it genuinely a nice ass (assuming you like meaty, smooth bubble butts), but couldn’t they have aimed the camera a little better, or found a pic that showed the action a little more clearly, or cropped the photo? It’s hard to think that this was one of the 11 best photos for this scene…

Anyone have others?

Re: Most Dubious Promo Pics

Is that even taken by a camera man… looks suspiciously like a cam on a tripod.

Re: Most Dubious Promo Pics

When you look at the promo video and pics for the scene it does seem they were using a tripod - and not even being careful about camera angles at that. I mean I get that with amateur stuff, but GISP is professional enough I’d expect better.

I must add over cropping to the equation! I seen this this week and it made me chuckle! Think a slightly wider shot would actually be ok!

Re: Most Dubious Promo Pics

I must admit that I have been guilty of putting out some dubious shots in the past. We definitely learn from our mistakes. We have to think about how the end user is going to work with the shots. Plenty of large wide shots are just as important as the close ups.
Having said that, I do like white leather beds and couches for porn. The brown sheets… not so much.

Re: Most Dubious Promo Pics

My bf has his MFA (Masters in Fine Art for those of you outside the US not familiar with that term). He always tells me that light blue is the best color for backgrounds in porn. To get color to “pop” you need to put it against it’s opposite color on the color wheel. For skin tones that’s light blue. Brown/beige is tone-on-tone – the colors won’t pop. But honestly I’ll excuse porn producers for not knowing color theory. Just give me good action shots with decent lighting.

I will not name and shame (because namely I cant remember which sponsor it was), but brown sheets are fine by me… Black cum stained ones in the intro shots for a scene when both models are fully clothed not so much!
