When Butch Dixon launched a couple of weeks ago, I got a few comments like, “Nice site, wish I knew how to promote the hairy man niche.”
So I’m offering a hairy man clinic. If you’d like to learn how to promote hairy man sites, build yourself a gallery, or a freesite, or write a blog post.
Then create a post in the Workshops section, post a link to your gallery, freesite, or blog post, and we’ll get to work. Post any questions you might have and I’ll try my best to help you out.
Each participant should create their own post in the Workshops section, that way you (and anyone else) will be able to follow the points for your own project. (I think the last freesite clinic got too long and people missed out on advice about their sites.)
Obviously, I’d be thrilled if you’d build your project using Butch Dixon content, but it’s not a requirement. I’ll help you out regardless of what content you decide to use.
Cool, I am going to give this one a try, maybe it’ll help me make some sales for that ‘other’ site too… but for this, naturally I’ll be using Butch Dixon stuff.
BTW Michael, thanks for extending the work day from 24 hours to 48 hours, now I might get a nap in… lol
i’d like to point out here that not all hairy men are bears, and while if you really wanted to you could get into the entire complex “bears, cubs, wolves, otters, muscle bears” thing, i’ve always done well referring to hairy men who aren’t bears - and sometimes who are - as hairy men.
What everyone here a Twink Lover? Surely there are some of you who can show a blond twinky fan how to promote the hairy men stuff? I am not totally blond, so how about popping in and letting us know what we are doing wrong, right, and maybe show us with one of your own works? Nothing like seeing what works to help motivate… whistle
That being said, its much easier to sell hairy guys than twinks. The market is less saturated, and there are less people competing. That could be the reason for lack of response, as you can simply put them on a site as hairy guys, and sell it. Not to discredit Butch Dixon, but its a much less competitive sale.
Thanks for the heads up. Signing up for Butch Dixon and promoting more hairy stuff is a plan for me. Right now, while I do have some hairy guys posts, they don’t promote hairy sites per se, so the posts aren’t very focused on the hairy thing.

Interesting, so then why is there even a clinic? If this is all ‘so easy’ then why should we waste our time. Naturally you may all think they are easy, but well, that is your interest. :bang:
Hairy men sites are an easy sale I think because there are so few of them. But you still have to know how to sell them and what terms to use. If you put up a text link to “big hairy bears” and you present the surfer with a 180-pound, hairy guy in his twenties, you might get more angry surfers than buying ones.
Let me clarify this whole “easy sale” thing as I was gently ripped a new one for apparently undermining the whole Hairy Man Clinic.
Here’s, I hope, a more clear statement.
The vast majority of webmasters are jumping all over themselves to promote PPS site and the same group of niched sites. There are so many webmasters promoting Randy Blue, Sean Cody, Corbin Fisher, and other jock sites, or the same can be said about twink sites.
There are a lot fewer webmasters promoting hairy man sites that an opportunity exists for webmasters to really clean up. I think hairy man sites are an “easy” sale because (a) everyone else is promoting more gay mainstream stuff, and (b) hairy man fans can’t find enough of this stuff in the link lists and TGPs on the Web. For every one hairy man gallery I get submitted to Gay Porn Pig, I’m probably getting 20 jocks or twink sites.
So if your hairy man freesite is only one of two or three listed on the Pig’s hundred or so listing today, you’re getting all the exposure. And if you build a good gallery (learning from the clinic) then you’ll probably make more money (“easy sales”).
Michael - Can you recommend any sources of Hairy Men with bareback action? I know it’s a sub-sub-niche, but if it existed I could sell it…
And BTW, your clinic inspired me to go a Butch Dixon post and add it to another post I had done previously to start a Hot Hairy Men theme on Wily Willy (the condom/solo site I’m just starting to get off off the ground)… More will come when I get the chance… Feel free to comment on the post if you like.

Thanks. I’m already signed up for those… There’s a look to the guys on Butch Dixon that I don’t quite find in bareback - Butch Dixon is “fresher” and less “hard” for lack of better words. There’s another hairy man site I know is about to launch that has a similar feel to the models as Butch Dixon, but it is also primarily a condom site…
