As promised, I’m posting the latest sample of my experiment with link lists and free site traffic.
The data covers the period 1 Oct to 1 Dec 2008, with me listing 15 free sites on several link lists each week.
To be quite honest, I’m disappointed with most of the link lists with a few exceptions. Most of them should have more traffic and have been around for a long time. It has proven to me that mass producing Free sites using bloggers / writers isnât economically feasible.
I’m not even sure that all the sites I submit to the link lists actually gets listed. Thats even with me following extremly strict straigh link list rules and they should be following all rules these sites might have.
I’m certainly finding that freesites aren’t the sales makers that they were earlier in the year. For instance, earlier in the summer I submitted about 6 freesites for College Dudes 24/7 and got 25 sales, but then four months later, I was barely pulling in half a dozen sales.
However, I do notice that I’m getting consistent sales for old freesites, which I guess surfers are still finding in the listings.
But certainly freesites aren’t the quick money they used to be.
I should add, these are the link lists I submitted to in order of amount of traffic each have sent. Each have recieved the same amount of sites from me.

No, I dont think there is a huge amount of money in it. Maybe as a hobby yes, but you wont ever make any big amounts on it.
There are HUGE differance between sponsors. Some sell very well as free sites, others are pointless. You can clearly see that sites thats been over-exposed like some of the Pridebucks, Intensecash and Gunz Blazing sites do not sell at all.
Total amount of traffic sent to sponsors so far is 158,000 giving it a conversion ratio of 1 in 717 so far.

It makes 220 sales in two months. Mixing PPS and revshare with rebills I can say the average $/sale is $35 (just to make counts easier). $ 3,850 / month. That’s not so bad actually! Ok, it doesn’t make a decent living but it can help
Sorry I should have said, that its probably worth doing it if you do it the traditional 1 man way. It would not been so bad IF I had created the sites myself. But I dont. I pay people to make them for me on my own system. So if you count that into the equation you can quickly see its no longer so attractive.
I think it will be over time, but not short term. IE sites will continue to do sales for a long time.
You know what Simon, lots of people I know would be very happy to make that. Ive said before Im around $2500 a month and that pays all my bills, plus I can go party, and take 1 or 2 holidays abroad each year.
Sure Im working hard to build up, but its a perfectly reasonable living to make.
