Dating Content Packages: Ethical or not?

So over on the For Sale forum here someone is selling “Dating Content Packages” which as far as I can tell appear to be a bunch of random hot guy photos that someone would use to create fake profiles for a new dating site or hook-up app. Is it just me or does this seem a tad un-ethical? Or am I just naive and this is common operating practice in the dating site world?

Re: Dating Content Packages: Ethical or not?

I used to own a photo rating site-- back when those were the thing-- a company in Ireland stole all my members photos and packaged them with their out of the box photo rating software. They gave them all fake names…

They even used my own moderator photos and renamed me Frank.

I looked into suing them but with them being out of the country it wasn’t worth my while. Sadly ethics and money on the internet are just something we pretend to care about.

For instance, I see a lot of affiliates claim CockyBoys isn’t paying them-- but they’re probably still attending the awards show Jake Jaxson is hosting and honored at… or hell, probably even still promoting them.

Someone once told me “Lie, steal, and cheat your way to the top.” I’ve tried not to but most people are a lot more successful and do

But, you’re right, its unethical… and I doubt the photos in the existing members pack is licensed… just a shit ton of innocent people looking desperate on a thousand sites.

Re: Dating Content Packages: Ethical or not?

(I went and looked at the post you were talking about and they all look like the first clothed images of porn shoots that TrainWreck probably does have the rights to)

That said, there is legal precedent and it is illegal to sell access to a service consisting of fake members. ESPECIALLY if you send messages/reply from the fake accounts.
