I don’t understand why European countries and the US don’t focus their resources on mass masking. The reason Taiwan was able to get things under control so quickly is because they acted fast at testing people and the culture there was already wearing masks in their daily lives after already going through other pandemics. My friends in Taiwan tell me that right now, every single person that goes in public is wearing a mask and that’s how they stopped the spread. They have masks because they started mass producing them weeks ago:
Whereas here in the west we have a shortage of masks and are actually told NOT to wear masks because the health care professionals need them. We are supposed to be the richest country in the world and we can’t focus our resources on producing masks for everyone?! Now culturally speaking, I know it’s hard for Americans and Europeans to put aside their rugged “individuality” for the “common good” and dawn a mask. That’s why in addition to mass masking there would need to be education to get people to wear them. It’s just upsetting that there is an easy way to fix this pandemic IF every single person wore masks in public and if every single person could have access to them.
We’re still aiming for herd-immunity, BUT in a very controlled way, which I believe is different from the initial UK approach. In order not to overburden hospitals - and especially the ICU capacity - there are measures in place that in some ways are pretty similar to measures in neighboring countries. Based on the numbers, decisions to tighten or loosen the restrictions are being made.
So, we’re not in lockdown but they don’t let the virus spread uncontrollably either
Rather than start a new thread to mention this I’ll add it here…
Obviously we’re all hoping for this to be over soon, but it looks like we might be seeing this lockdown continue for a few months and I’m genuinely curious about how much of a stockpile some studios have for an event like this. Surely no one is shooting new scenes and I can’t imagine most sites have much of a buffer before they start experiencing issues?
We will probably see a lot of sites doing self-filmed solo jerk off videos. In fact I noticed English Lads has released 2 such updates in the last week.

Of course we are all worried about this though, fortunately for our inhouse studios we had a stockpile of content for at least a couple of months but of course that will run out fast.
Yep, noticed that too.
Although, over the past year or so they’ve been occasionally releasing old content they’d managed to retrieve from a failed hard drive back in 2016 (I think). I guess that might help them out if they have a good number still to go.
