Apple's New Lion OS X

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

You can talk about anything else EXCEPT Apple products, thank-you very much. Because we are haters. :sarcastic:

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

Lloyd, I am saying that all things need to be balanced. I have Apple products in my home and I hate them. However, I don’t post my opinions here (until now) because it’s not related to anything that’s of interest to the people who are here. We fled that “board culture” of being force fed “Apple is best”… that’s why everyone’s here. Mindless tittle tattle and promotion of products that aren’t really related to this business don’t resonate here (or not!) like they did (or clearly didn’t!) elswhere.

This board has been a breath of fresh air to many and I hope you can recognise that. No-one should want to turn it stale in the same way the other board suffered by letting it become “Apple versus the world” again… and again… again… and yet again. Let’s focus on adult industry news… whilst also allowing posts about important events occuring all over the world. Adult is fine… News events are fine… but the seemingly endless need to talk and hype about Apple products is just plain wrong. This board has done just great without such hype - don’t killl it.

Can we all learn a lesson from that?

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

You know, watching the news about Oslo does it really matter who likes Apple, and who loves MS? Let’s lighten up here guys and gals. Sure, this is about the adult biz, but its also about connecting with each other, in learning new things, in taking advantage of people’s knowledge not just on how to push Straight Rent Boys or Blake Mason, but on how they render videos, how they relax so they can produce more.

What’s the old saying, all work makes jack a dull boy?

And rest assured Adam, Bjorn and all of us moderators, are committed to maintaining the integrity and quality of this forum. That is not changing, no matter who joins, doesn’t join, or whatever. But we all like to have a bit of fun too. Makes it easier to cope with the dullards who run our Countries, who set up the stupid tax laws.

So lets just lighten up, enjoy each others company and dialogue. pretty please?

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

You’re all just jealous. I am still getting used to Apple, I will always have my windows computers as well, its just really nice when I dont have to turn all my programs down for a windows update every 48 hours. Lloyd, I may have some questions for you soon since you were raving about how easy it was on a Apple for certain tasks, now I see it first-hand.

This forum should be about “all” business related topics, if you are not interested in the subject line you dont have to start a post in the thread to let everyone know about it.

I think someone’s blood pressure hit an all time high after you made that post…

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

Here’s something really cool I just discovered with the new OS Lion and Safari. I updated my 1Password to work with Lion and the new Safari browser and I absolutely LOVE it. It works even better and faster then RoboForm did on my old PC. I can now log onto any sites I want like lightening. Info on doing the upgrade here:

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

Hahaha! Lion will be Apple’s Vista…beware!:help::sarcastic:

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

This thread is totally relevant. I clicked on it to see if the new operating system would slow down my porn workflow. I edit in Final Cut. I respond to all my emails in Apple Mail. I use my iMac to great my graphics. I use Cyberduck on my Mac to upload my movies. If the new system caused problems, it would have an impact on my porn work.
I see threads on here that aren’t relevant to my work or my life, so I don’t read them. I also think there’s a big difference between discussing an operating system upgrade and promoting stock.
I can understand Adam’s resentment about Apple not being porn friendly. But they aren’t blocking any browser, just apps. What corporation is porn friendly? Don’t they all have to take the public stand against the “evils of porn?” It’s not like Android is running commercials saying that their phones are porn-ready. I could totally understand a thread about Apple vs porn, but let us talk about the new OS and how it will impact my workflow. I want to know.

(And I mean all this respectfully, because I love Blake Mason and the work you do!)

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

Here’s to hoping you get numerous Patch Tuesdays to resolve the Vista-like experience. Lloyd you talk about patches! LOL! :sarcastic:

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

I haven’t upgraded to lion yet.

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

If you do decide to upgrade…be very careful, because when you scroll from side to side you get this weird visual redraw rendering problem which for some peeps has been causing severe headaches. :bad::yes4:

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

And this is exactly why, despite what Adam thinks, that having a discussion about a new OS is valuable and relevant to many people here. I can’t upgrade to Lion as I have at least one application that I paid nearly $500 that does not have an Intel version.

There are also issues with some Adobe products as well.

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

Hi Adam,

I’m not an investor in Apple, I just enjoy my apple laptop far more than I ever did the myriad of PCs I owned before it.
If you don’t like these threads, please don’t read them. It’s that simple. I don’t think you are stupid for not choosing Apple, I honestly don’t care a fig what computer you choose to use, I assume that as a business man you make the choice most relevant to your requirements. I would hope that you extend the same professionalism to my choice.

Please don’t insult me, imply that I’m stupid or don’t know any better, or imply that I’m only a happy Apple user because I’m somehow profiting off the comcompany.

Thank you, Mary

By the way, the entire team at QueerClick are Mac users, so I guess we are all stupid and don’t know what we are talking about.

Re: Apple’s New Lion OS X

There are 29 public companies that have cash reserves bigger than the US government…

I don’t see Apple on the list, but there are enough news stories saying Apple does have the cash it just means the list is incomplete. Still, Apple’s $74B isn’t nearly as big as some companies on the list. One even has 10 times more cash than the US government.

While banks are companies I don’t consider them as “normal companies” and it seems that the author of the article I linked thinks in my same way. Those companies are banks. Does the capital include deposits of their customers?
