Affiliates - Do You Use YouTube?

I know a lot of sponsors are now using YouTube to promote their content in a G-Rated context, but I’m curious to know if any affiliates here have had any success in this regard. Do you promote sites using YouTube and if so, what have your experiences been doing so?

  1. Has YouTube been accommodating in allowing links to blog posts, reviews or the sponsor site itself?

  2. How far can you go as far as action is concerned? Is two guys kissing acceptable, or is YouTube as homophobic as FB used to be? :grrr:

Thanks in advance for any feedback. In this day and age a person has to come up with as many ways to promote as possible. I have a lot of experience with YouTube, owning several channels and uploading my own mainstream videos regularly. If I can monetize within our industry using it then hey, why not?

Re: Affiliates - Do You Use YouTube?

Youtube used to be a goldmine back in the day. One of the issues I have with Youtube is that you can follow their terms and conditions to 100% BUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT if one person complains about a video they will pull it and there isnt shit you can do. Ive had videos pulled with 100k views that were 100% in the T&C. So if you invest the time there is money still to be made there, but it can be wiped out quick.

Yes. I made the mistake of posting some cilps using my personal google account in the past, these clips had NOTHING more than kissing and guys with shirts off, and not only did they wipe my videos completely but they also permanently banned me from Youtube. I still can’t log-in to Youtube using my google account to this day, even after over 5 years! So I’d also suggest that you make sure not to use a personal account if you are going to post anything adult related.

Re: Affiliates - Do You Use YouTube?

I had an idea once to do a gay porn review series for YouTube. No explicit visual content, just a host or two talking about videos. The reason I didn’t do it is because its so easy to get banned. All it takes is one or two people to flag you and boom, all that work was for nothing.

Re: Affiliates - Do You Use YouTube?

Thanks for the feedback folks.

I thought as much. YouTube users can be pretty nasty at times, just for the sake of being so.

I would have to create my own G-rated videos from trailers - always with sponsor permission of course - and while I have great software and a good system that can render them fairly quickly, all the effort could be moot. I will have to ponder on it more.

Thanks again. Keep the feedback coming though.

I was going to use YouTube for HoloTwink outtakes but sort of got lazy and didn’t…

The one video I posted does have 12,000 views… so maybe it was a bad move on my part not posting regular videos.

It’s never too late to start posting videos again. Give it a try and tell us what happens. LOL
