Adult Social Network... Update

You may recall a while back I discussed the idea of starting a new adult social site and we agreed on some issues, mostly it was a catch 22 like without traffic you won’t have content, without content you won’t have traffic, etc.

Since I have summer break now and live up north where I don’t have much to do, I tried to create a test site for my little experiment anyway.

So… It’s a site where you can upload your photos, videos, gifs, subscribe and follow other users, like posts, add them to your favorites (or add them to a “liked list” two different things though), upvote (or downvote), favorite posts are “selected” as trending and/or as popular and get a special place on the site with more visibility.

Users can also see others who like the video/photos/gallery. Mutual friends can send each other internal messages.

For content, I created profiles of several studios on their behelfs and posted affiliate content on their profiles. So each post is associated with a specific studio. Their profiles can also be linked to other social media sites and their official websites.

Points / tokens - Is it morally wrong to reward users for watching porn? Seems a bit wrong to me…
Anyway, if you post a comment, get a new subscriber, add new content, you’ll be rewarded and can get on top lists.

Points can also be spent and used for something… I have no idea what for yet, but it’s possible.

Is there an app? No, there isn’t, but the site supports AMP and is mobile friendly.

I would link the website, but I don’t know if it’s allowed or could also say that I’m showing my dick around.

Will it work? Yeah… probably not, but at least I tried and I will find out if people are interested in something like this.

This is like a simple blog. If you have serious plans for a social network, forget about Word Press.

well, I didn’t say this is THE social network I had in mind, I said that I wanted to test the idea if people are interested in interacting on an website (I wouldn’t even use this domain for that, this is just one of my legendary domains I had no use for).

I have another website where people upload their content, just not the content people are partically interested to watch.

I get that it’s just a test but like gbmen said its just a blog. You wont get enough traffic to be able to do a test to see if people interact. Even on popular sites very few people interact, let alone one with very little traffic. I don’t see any way to interact either, i did login but there’s nothing much you can do. No easy way to interact from what I can see and just gives me the normal options a blog would do. Why would people register for a login?

If you want to make it into a social network it has to look like one and function like one. The layout just suggests a blog of tube, the interactions are not very social, the feed or page doesn’t change depending on what you do, clicking on a image gives you a blog post.

I think for it to be a social network it has to look like one first of all.

Well, once again I didn’t say this is the social network or that I want to turn this site into social networork, all I said was its a site where you can do things I said you can do (like follow others, add your own videos and photos, like, subscribe to specific users, etc.

You told me that I won’t be able to get traffic without content and without traffic I won’t be able to get content, which I absolutely agreed…so I tried to create a hybrid site/blog with a studio content to get at least some starting content (where you can also do some extra things that are yet not visible, i.e. you can’t see others who liked the posts since there are no others), etc.

The point was to see if it will get some traffic and the traffic will onboard some users… and once it will reach a certain number, I could notify them about the actual social adult social network.

I extended user submission content on my amateur tube and trying to recruit users there as well.

Don’t take it too hard, we’re just offering some feedback. It’s only a point of view.

To me it wasn’t obvious that I can follow, like or add anything. It didnt seem to show me those options. So perhaps that’s something to look at. Sometimes less is more, in this case there’s perhaps too many options but they are not easy to spot or obvious how to use. Take instagram, what can you do? Like, Message/Comment and Post. All those functions are very easy to find and do.

I personally wouldn’t do a hybrid as it’s likely to just come across as something that already exist.

But as they say, fail fast. Try many things until you find what works.

I know…, I’m not trying to sound offended/upset or anything and I welcome feedback. I’m using only Twitter (and the actual social network I’m working on will be close to Facebook and Twitter) with a post wall, likes, reposts, etc. and I have a much, much better name for it.

but we all agreed that it needs traffic to get the content and content to ge the traffic. As I said I have one website with homemade videos and if somebody uploads a new video, the “upload wizard” will ask them if they want to opt in also for this new website (…), when it’s ready, they will be first to know.

You see that somebody used this demo to rename it to Justin Deeper (who did that?) and added an avatar and profile picture, but I also said that this demo account can’t create anything., but if you checked his profile GAYPORNZONE - All about the hottest gay porn online... you saw 0 Posts, 0 Favorites, 0 comments, 0 following, 0 followers.

I logged in as a Demo and simply clicked on that red heart icon that is floating when you open any post and followed SayUncle and commented one post. Now you see Demo account has posts, 1 favourites, 1 comment and 1 following. Since I liked SayUncle post and commented MenAtPlay post, they both were notofied (that bell icon on the right side) next to big red + and since I follow SayUncle now, I see all their posts when I open my dashboard (My Porn Zone).

I mean besides reposting post which would make no sense now and adding status (text) posts to your wall (that will be availbe on that actual social website), what other functions should it have?

Edit: Okay… Like, Bookmark, Share, Add to Favorites, and Flag icons are not floating now on the left side, they are right under the title…

Edit 2: It’s probably easier to navigate the website on a desktop pc.

and btw. I said “will it work? Yeah… probably not” right at the begging :slight_smile:
