OK, I was going to write to CCBill with this question and that way none of you would know how dumb I might be. But in the interest of self humiliation, I’ll post the question here (who knows… maybe someone else wondered the same thing):
Let’s say that on January 1st porn consumer Joe Blow buys a membership to Sean Cody after clicking one of the affiliate links on your site. You get one of those cool emails from CCBill notifying you of the sale. Then after a month, around February 1st, you get another membership notification email from CCBill for a Sean Cody membership. Is this just Joe Blow renewing or is it someone else?
For quite awhile I’ve been getting CCBill notification emails for the same obscure sites and it just dawned on me that they seem to be coming in about 30 days apart. I always assumed that the CCBill email notice was only for the first sale but now I’m thinking they’re for renewals too. If not, then I guess its just a wild coincidence I’m getting new sales from these obscure sites every month.
I have never got an email telling me about renewals …
When you login to your CBill acct you can see which sales are single, which are on-going etc, so you should easily be able to work out if they are renewals or new sales.
I have to say I never got a rebill email. But then again, there are days when I don’t get all my ccbill emails for sales made that day so who knows…
To clarify the confusion, why not login to ccbill admin and check the site in question for let’s say last 3 months, and you’ll see how many new sales you made, how many rebills and then check the number of emails received for that site… Other than that maybe someone from CCbill will come and reply to this thread.
Thanks everyone and now I know why I was thinking this was a dumb question: you’re right, all I have to do is log into CCBill to see what the sale is. Duh!!
