Mac that much better for video editing?

Re: Mac that much better for video editing?

Hi

I just had a thought, which is that Ashton might like to have a look at Final Cut Express.

This is a “cut down” version of Final Cut Pro.

It is very much cheaper than Final Cut Pro and it may be that Final Cut Express will be more than enough for Ashton’s requirements.

Final Cut Express is amazingly capable and personally I only very occasionally use things in Final Cut Pro that I know are not available in Final Cut Express.

Shockingly I do a lot of work with Imovie that comes free with a Mac. But then again all I am really doing now is promo videos.

OK, Avid does REAL time video effects - you can see them without having to render them! Always has done since I bought my first copy back in 2006

Our local University has Final Cut Pro for their media students (some of which have worked for me on a part-time basis over the years). All have loved Avid more than Final Cut…

Avid also works on Macs… and coming back to the original question, my next editing machines will be Macs. I’m done with Dell.

Dell is such a pain in the ass company to deal with. As long as you NEVER need to call them you are okay. But the second you have to make a phone call for any kind of support whatsoever it’s easier to go and get a root canal or two done…

Well I haven’t had an ounce of problems with my Dell products…going almost now for 4 years.
