I have just updated our cookie life to 30 days, so I hope that helps everyone a little bit. I couldn’t see any reason not to change the default 3 day cookie life to 30 days so I would think if there are other webmaster programs who are running the 3 day default you may want to email them and ask them to consider a change, like one of you was kind enough to do to me, thanks nick

I have a CCBill cookie question.

Suppose I’m on site X and I click a CCBill affiliate link that takes me to site Z. I then surf away, wind up on site Y, and click an affiliate link that takes me back to the same site Z.

If I then signup for Z, who gets credit for the sale – X or Y?

And do different affiliate systems (Epoch, Verotel, NATS, etc.) handle it differently?

Those idiots!?? They have been messing with affiliate traffic more than enough times. I would NOT trust them and would NOT recommend anyone promoting them.

None of the traffic I sent to them has registered in CCBill and they do not respond to any emails about this issue. However they are certainly happy to take affiliate traffic. I’ve also listed them on the Black list thread.

I agree with with you, which was why I agreed to help. All the BS that was going on, was not intentional, just a CLUELESS site owner, whom I happen to know. Please let me know what problems you were having.

All I know is my traffic etc wasn’t being tracked, so I contacted the owner, which is how I ended up offering to help with CCBill settings, relaunch etc. Never promoted the site HARD, but I did notice nothing was tracked, when I did promote. I will get them on this board to clarify things. I know there were problems, when it initially launched with Epoch, as well.

Just went through and checked a bunch of my CCBill sponsors and will add as 3 day cookies these:

Amateur Straight Guys
UK Scally Lads
Spunkworthy
Straight College Men
Kim Private
Fresh SX
Buzz West
Alex Boys
Active Duty

Funny thing, a few of those are my best converting sites with 3 day cookies or not. I’m not 100% sure that a longer cookie means more affiliate sales but I guess every sale counts in the end and rebills on those sales can really add up.

BTW, I have reached out to a few site owners I know and was surprised how many REALLY didn’t have a clue about cookie settings, tracking etc. I think CCBill should give new clients some kind of info with regards to cookies, especially.
