You can try these as a starting point:
Output settings: MP4, web optimized, iPod5g support (both checked)
Codec: H.264, Framerate set to “current”
For my HD videos, I set the average bit rate to 2000, with 2-pass encoding and Turbo 1st pass checked
Large: avg bit rate 1500, 2-pass, etc.
