Not selling or pushing anything. Just providing info for those who may care. If not, no big deal. It's an astrology thing.

I think it may have been this board where I sort of embarrassed myself (moi?) when I first joined. Saw some folks discussing Mercury retrograde, so I babbled on. No mathematics or technicalities this time.

For anyone interested in this fall's event, here's the dates. There's two schools of thought. The old school is that Mercury retrograde:
Starts: 12:45AM Eastern, Labor Day, September 7, 2009 (Sept 6 for Central and Pacific)
Ends: 9:14AM Eastern, September 29, 2009

The new school of thought is illustrated in the small, simple chart at http://gaymalefetishsites.com/MercuryRetro2009.html, if that works. I tried to put that chart here, and it didn't show up in the preview.

The red/pink bar in the graph shows when the EFFECTS of Mercury Retrograde are witnessed. The stronger the red, the stronger the effect. Note the two peaks marked by the yellow dots - the two dates mentioned above.

For whatever it's worth, or FYI, here's the standard astrological interpretation:
1. A time when communications of any kind show delays, failures, stangeness.
2. Same with computers, cars, machines and gizmos.
3. Excellent time to review, go back and research something.
4. Purchases and exchange may not pan out as expected.
5. New clients showing up during this period are more likely not to last.
6. Unwise time to make major decisions. (Things may change, thinking may be off, not all info may be available, etc.)
7. Following through on decisions made before this period are fine.

More info FYI: How this or any astrological position affects you has a lot to do with you own birth chart (specific to you...and the exact time and place of your birth). For example, some people will witness MercRetro more in money matters, or at home, or in relationships, or at the work place, etc. And some will experience it more strongly than others.

All planets (except the Sun and Moon) go retrograde (appear to move backwards in the sky) at times, and each has it's own meaning. But Mercury's effect is more apparent, as Mercury affects everyday mundane affairs.

Another easy and important astro tip is to note when the Moon is v/c. (No need to get into the details of what "void of course" means unless you like math). The dates/times are all done for you if you get a cheap astro calendar (Jim Maynard's "Pocket Astrologer" and calendars are fantastic). It will tell you exactly when this occurs: every three days or so anywhere from a couple of minutes, couple of hours, and rarely a day and a half. Crazier than Merc.Retro and good to know.

A good thing to keep in mind is not to get all wrapped up in this stuff if you use it, especially if you are new to this. They aren't mandates, only considerations. I usually don't pay attention to them unless it's something big. For example, initiating, buying or signing something important during Merc.Retr. and Moon v/c, in my opinion, is really high risk. However, I admit I don't always remember or feel like checking the calendar sometimes.
