I have to do a small project (non-adult) for my sisters school.
It will be my first attempt at a blog.

My instincts are to go with Wordpress, but I found a cool book that shows step by step how to work blogger at a garage sale for a nickel. LOL. I know there are books about Wordpress too.

Anyway, which is better for ADULT work, because I suspect that once I make one for my sister I will want to make one for myself that is adult related.

I will be hosting the blogs on my own server if that makes a difference.

Wordpress. Blogger won't do adult.

If you are planning on doing more than one blog, then you might want to consider Blogs Organizer (http://www.cheapestadultscripts.com/affiliates/click.php?ref=demonduck&page=http://bo.cheapestwebsoftware.com/). I think if you check with Bec, she can provide excellent help. (I've used her affiliate referral in the link as well, in case you are interested)

Myself I use Wordpress but for multiple blogs, it really can be a pain doing the upgrades. Something to consider though it has tons of plugins.

I think moveable type also has a free edition out now too, but never used it. Bjorn uses the paid version though, so he can maybe tell you more about it.

Thanks for the info. At this point, I am going to start with just the one blog for my sister, but I was thinking about doing one for our adult sites as well.

Thanks for the info.

If you are just going to do one or so for your adult site, I'd really recommend Wordpress then. You can really tweak it out and the maintenance is simple enough.

Now if you are going to use it so affiliates can link to, then really consider the blogs organizer (http://www.cheapestadultscripts.com/affiliates/click.php?ref=demonduck&page=http://bo.cheapestwebsoftware.com/), so it can carry forward affiliate codes.

IMO Wordpress is way better than blogger. You have much more control, have your own domain( better for SEO).

I'm not the brightest when it comes to using this internet machine but have been able to use wordpress with a little coaching from our resident experts.

There is a plugin for wordpress that will carry through affiliate codes as well at http://www.wojfun.com/adult/wordpress_affiliate_plugin/

Good luck with that and be sure to let us know when you are ready for some link trades

Blogger is easier to use, but you'll run into the following problems (to name a few):

1) some sites won't link to you because you use Blogger
2) Adult sites are against Bloggers TOS, and you risk having them delete everything without notice (last major purge I know of was in August)

In terms of support, you would probably do better with Wordpress. Sending something to Blogger support is like throwing a message in a bottle into the ocean.

Blogger is totally fine, I think, for the school project. If it isn't, then that's a (another) sad statement about Blogger. If you never have done a blog before, maybe it would be good because supposedly it is so easy. Then it would get you used to how blogs work as a introduction to when you use WP. But if you are a webmaster, it should be no big learning curve to use WP, which is just as good for the school project.

Don't even bother using Blogger for adult, for exactly what Teddy, Gaystoryman said. People use Blogger for adult because they don't realize what they are doing: it's against their rules. Wordpress can be used for adult without worries.
