I just got back from the Phoenix Forum. Wow, what a great trip.
It was AWESOME to finally meet Lloyd, even though we didn't talk all that much. And great to see all my old friends! (and make a few new ones too!)
After the forum I drove over to San Diego and spent some time on the beach. But I am home now, and back to work. Which brings me to my next post...

Welcome back!
San Diego is nice, I stayed there for a few days a couple of years ago. I didnt realize Phoenix was in that area!

It is about a five hour drive, but a nice one in the desert.
Some of the cactus was in bloom, so it was especially nice.
I used to live in San Diego, and am moving back there in a few months (like San Diego needs another gay video company :D) so I just wanted to spend a few days.
Tell you what though, after a 15 hour drive to Phoenix from where I live, then 5 more to San Diego, then the 20 hours back....
I am ready to sell my car and only fly from this point forward!

I just got back from Phoenix / Mexico / Buenos Aires - it was an awesome two week break that was entirely needed. Now I feel fresh and ready to go again :)

I'm glad you liked San Diego. It's a 2 hour drive for me but I have friends there so I love getting a chance to go out and visit. It's a beautiful area. Although nothing beats Venice Beach for guy watching. What can I say, I like all the tattoo'd and pierced punk boys. Woof! Next time you're in town you'll have to check it out. :)
Do you really live in a town called Loveland? Did you know there's a B-52's song called Loveland? It's on their Mesopotamia album.

Yes, I really live in a town called Loveland. We are the Valentine Re-mailing capital of the world. Every February millions of people send their valentine cards to us so we can stamp them with a special Loveland Postmark. It is kind of creepy, but the whole town gets involved. Miss Valentine, Mr. Valentine, Parades, Fireworks, etc.
I have not heard the song, I will have to go check it out. I used to really like the B-52's, wonder how I missed it.
Yes, I LOVE San Diego. I used to live there, and I keep my boat in a slip on Harbor Island. Since I have the boat to stay on, it is cheap for me to visit.
I have been thinking about having a West Coast Webmasters Cruise. I can fit maybe 10-12 drunken webmasters on my sailboat at a time, and I was thinking a long weekend on Catalina or one of the Channel Islands would be a lot of fun.
Right now I am splitting my time between Colorado and San Diego...but we just got an offer on the house, and are in escrow, so once it is officially sold, we plan to be in San Diego a lot more.
I have only been to Venice beach once, and it was in winter...so there was not much boy watching going on. I cant wait to visit this summer. You will have to be my guide!

Any time you want! Just ask. I love Venice Beach so any excuse to go there for the day is okay by me. I've never been to Catalina, believe it or not. I've heard great things about it.
I think all but the most die hard B-52's missed the Mesopotamia album. It was supposed to be a collaboration with David Byrne of the Talking Heads acting as producer but something happened and it never got totally finished, so they released it as an EP with just six songs. It's a very different sound for them and you can tell Byrne's influence. It's available on CD doubled up with the Party Mix ep and the band had all six tracks remixed to have a fuller, more polished sound. A much needed improvement over the original album, in my opinion. If you see it, it's worth picking up. And if you don't care for Mesopotamia, the Party Mix album (full of remixes from their first two album) makes the CD worth having. And to really flog a dead horse, Planet Clique released a new remix CD of songs from Mesopotamia that is really good. I also just got their CD of Wild Planet remixes which are amazing.
Okay, tangent over.
