how many pics/videos on a free site?

I am just wondering what people think is the right amount of free pics or videos to give away on a free site?

some link lists only accept 60 pics or more, but maybe this is too high?

if you want to be posted on those lists, you gotta do it. it's only 4 galleries of 15 pics each. the best way to determine how many pics to put on any promotional site or gallery is to base it on the requirements of the places you'd like your site or gallery to be listed on.

60 pictures is probably the best amount, like Basschick said, it allows you to split them up into a 4 galleries with 15 each. I do think its actually quite a bit to give a way for free but its probably a good one to go for.

I agree. You have to do it, but its way way way too much and a problem for the industry imo (allthough I think the damage has now been done as surfers demand more).

I think 20-30 is right but I do 60 as thats what the big traffic senders want.

offering more to their surfers is how the big sites got big. otherwise they'd still allow 30-pic sites but send less traffic. 60 pics seems fair to me if they send more, and not a problem at all. after all, you'd have had to make 2 30-pic sites to get the same traffic from the big sites as you do from 1 60-pic site, so it balances out.

Thats a point basschick. Although its a shame we need to give away so much free porn, it does mean less sites per traffic. Its all swings and roundabouts.

The simple fact is, if the link list wants 60 pics, you need them or you don't get listed, and traffic is essential to get the sales.

If you chose your 60 pics right, you will not be giving away too much ....or if you use screen caps or pics taken from a video session, you can upsell the surfer to the actual video they came from.

Thats true. Never thought of that before. Quite a few sites use screencaps for promo material and I never thought of wording the sales pitch to seeing the actual video. Duh! Haha.

I've actually been thinking about INCREASING the pix count in my freesites...

I'm hoping to keep a surfer's attention a little longer - for the very reason that there is so much free stuff out there.

Any opines here?

My biggest free site has 1,000 pics. A decent CTR and good conversions (1:200ish).
