I'm finally using up some of my accrued vacation time from my day job and we are heading off on a round the world trip starting early in August.
We're lining up guys to shoot along the way and hopefully meet up with any other webmasters in these cities. The trip is:
Melbourne AU - Buenos Aires - New York - Berlin - Barcelona - Palermo - Rome - Bangkok - Melbourne AU
That's 78 hours of flying over 6 weeks. so I'm looking for recommendations for a good book too :)

sounds like a blast!
what kind of books do ya like, and do you prefer to read paper books or to read ebooks on a laptop/netbook/ebook reader?

What dates will you be in NYC? I know Lloyd and I (and others?) would be game to go out for drinks with you...

Oh cool! Isn't it funny. I never would have guessed where you guys were located! And Detroit I would definitely not have guessed.
I'll be in NY from 14th to 18th August. I would love to meet and have a drink with you guys. I'll send you a message Rawtop with my details.
I prefer paper books Patti. I love mystery and thriller stories... and bizarre love stories :) I'm up for trying anything you enjoyed reading.

A quick question. Does anyone know what a reasonable fee would be to pay models for solos in Europe? (Berlin and Barcelona)
What about middle America? Denver!lol

i'm not one for thrillers, but i do read some mysteries.
have you read the spenser novels by robert b. parker? yes, spenser for hire was (loosely) based on them, but honestly the show didn't capture any of the charm or the danger of the series. not to mention the personalities of the characters.
i also enjoyed the first 4 raymond chandler novels - the big sleep, farewell my lovely, the high window and the lady in the lake. the last 3 were a different, more 1950s style i didn't like as much, but reading all 7 takes you through the entire phillip marlowe saga, not counting the book finished by robert b. parker, poodle springs, which i didn't like much.
if you like the older stuff - 1920s and 30s, try the peter wimsey novels by dorothy l. sayers. they helped create some of the bits of business in detective fiction that are now very common. if you prefer more modern detectives, maybe the sue grafton books starting with a is for alibi or the robert crais books, which feature a detective called elvis cole who seems to be trying to be a bit like spenser but is still an okay read.
and there's always the jeffrey deaver books, which are a tad more forensic and less humorous than the robert b. parker books. they're not really my style, but most people consider them a good read.
have a great flight... er... flights!

Oh... I always expected someone would be producing in Denver. I've never been there but I reckon there would be a lot of hot guys there.

robert b. parker sounds good to me patti. i'll go searching the book shops this week. that'll keep my mind off the many long hauls ahead :)
by the way. out of all the cities we are visiting i seem to be getting the most interest from people in modelling for my site in barcelona. spanish men are less inhibited perhaps?

Well I'm finally back home after the long round the world trip. I had such a great time visiting all those cities. I ended up doing a lot more shooting than I had expected. The guys in Buenos Aires, Berlin and Barcelona were spectacular! It definitely made the whole trip worthwhile.
But the high points of the trip had to be meeting up with Miamiboyz and Rawtop. Coincidently these also happened to be my most drunken moments during the trip :)
