I'm just curious why some Directory owners only accept descriptions with the very first letter capatilized and no other words. Even if they're starting a new sentence. Is this an SEO thing? Convenience?

Thanks:cool:

No idea, not noticed that before. The only thing I don't accept, actually a pet hate is when people use ALL CAPS ON THE WHOLE TITLE OR DESCRIPTION.

Capitalizing each word isn't great for making it readable, one of the benfits of using correct captilization is that the text is easier to read. Like in your Sig on this forum. I find it harder to read because you have used a capital letter for each word.

I guess it's easy to change though, you can just convert it with CSS so really it doesnt matter much.

Huh, I've never heard of that before. We don't require that on our directory sites.

I can see all caps being annoying and hard to read for sure. I would never do that myself. You must be seeing something different with my sig as I have the text bold, but it's not all caps. Does that make it hard to read as well? I will make the links regular if that helps. Please let me know. Thanks.

I did notice that after I've submitted to Gay Porn Engine, the description only has the first letter of the description capitalized and the other first words of a sentence aren't. At least on the page after I've made the submission. I trust this is something that the script does.

So I was just wondering if doing that makes the description easier to read for search engines.

There are only a few directories which insist on only the first letter of the entire description being in caps. Most don't seem to care.

no search engines don't care.

What i meant about your sig was an example. You use Caps on the first letter of each word. Personally I find that harder to read, but it might be different for everyone. I do admit at times it can look nice to use Caps on some words.

It's Simply Because A Description Written Like This Is Normally A Title, And You Have Probably Noticed That Some Directory Owners Are Really Anal About How You Do Things. They're Probably All Virgos!

Thanks for the feedback on that folks. Makes sense really that it would not read right if each first letter is capped. Most times my descriptions are short paragraphs with about 180-220 characters in them. If there's more than one sentence then I always start each sentence with a capitalized word. I'm sure most of us were taught to write english that way. LOL. There are some directories that only want the very first letter of the paragraph capped and no other words in the description. Strange, but if it gets hits that's fine with me.

Thanks again
