HAHA, I guess you just got vista. Hey, on the plus side, you probably won't ever have to listen to anyone say its great! I have never heard anyone rave about it!

Both are AV software I will never use again. PC-cillan is just awful now and Norton... my hatred runs deep, lol.

I hated Vista when I first got it because I had a lot of trouble installing some software and the vista updates, so I did a fresh reinstall (thanks to Pickles who helped me out) and now it runs fine. I think there was something in the bundle that came with the computer that was messing things up. It works pretty well now.
Xstr8guy, what antivirus software would you prefer?

Dumb question: Why would anyone upgrade to Vista? I haven't heard of any apps that require it (yet). From what I understand, you get prettier icons and a few other useless facelift features, but not much else. I understand it's slower in many ways, is a resource hog, and basically makes life more difficult...
I've basically sworn to avoid Vista at all costs until I absolutely have to upgrade.

I have a new computer that came with Vista. I didn't choose it, it chose me. But I hear they are going to stop doing updates for XP now. And they did just release a service pack for Vista that should help a lot of issues people are having problems with. It ain't perfect by any means but now that I've got my issues settled I'm okay with it. And it sure is pretty.

I think most are forced into upgrading rather then making a dicision to upgrade. If you upgrade your PC then the chances are that its going to come with VISTA pre installed as DonMike has already indicated. Microshaft will also withdraw support or upgrades for older windows versions and so security will become an issue.

Same here. I had a choice between paying $400 the same notebook and getting it built (10 days) w/ XP or buying it with Vista and getting it shipped overnite.
Should have had it built.

Might be worth a call to see if you can buy a "downgrade" for $50 or something.

Yeah I'm with the people who are trying to rebel against Vista.lol I know I will have to sometime in the future, but I'm glad it's not today. ;)
P.S - No new updates for XP...that sucks. :slap:
