Just curious, you don't have to list them all. Just a number of the amount of websites, blogs, freesites featuring affiliate content that you own.

28 Sites, and many are gathering dust, and the odd bit of traffic, which are definitely too many for one person, which is why I am moving towards some alternative solutions. I mean, I got a wife that is a job in itself, never mind all those sites :bang:lol

About 300 domains with content on them but not more than 40 sites which are updated regularly.

170 as of this morning ... always subject to change!

A few hundred. But, I don't really update them much at all. Still have a few hundred domains with content on them. Each one makes about a sale a month to something. It's interesting to see what makes sales after 5+ years of just "sitting" there.

How do you guys find the time to update over 20 to 30 blogs? Or are they free sites that you can just leave alone.

I feel inadequacy that I don't even reach the double digits in the amount of sites I own.

the folks with tons of blogs often populate them with RSS feeds, so they don't themselves choose the content or write the blog posts.

Patti's right Terry. While I personally own 170 domains, I manage an additional 30 or so blogs that are setup on the blog free hosts. I manage the blogs with Blogs Organizer. (see sig) Yes, they get regular posts by using RSS feeds, but I also take and post a relevant niche post to a blog that usually doesn't feature that website.

For instance, Hot Latinos rss for my latino site had a really hairy guy recently, so I posted him to my CraveBears.com website and also to JustStraightCocks.com because he is also straight! (Text was changed for each to make it unique)

I also utilize a lot of the whitelabel sites, choosing domain names that compliment the product and target specific markets (straight, gay, tranny, bi) and/or a niche.

My first full time job for another webmaster involved learning how to build hub sites, free sites, link lists, galleries, and the various levels involved for creating a circle jerk with them and taking it to deeper linking in order to filter traffic. While you can do it using a couple of domains and a lot of subfolders, it's usually more effective with keyword specific domains to anchor a good deal of it.

More doesn't necessarily translate into bigger $$$ if you don't know how to set it all up, so don't feel "inadequate" because you have "just" a couple of sites.

1 running site and 1 site in development
2 hand written blogs
1 free site
4 parked domains for sometime way down the road.

Those 4 small sites take up virtually all my spare time. If anything goes up on a parked domain it will be something that requires very little to no upkeep.

Well right now I have one blog (written content only), another blog, and I'm thinking of creating a third blog, plus a free site.

Am I crazy?

I just realized I sorta do that also ... if I have something for a specific niche, I find myself going thru all sites that advertise such and such a niche to see if I can reuse the material. It does seem to take less time that way than just randomly bouncing down the to do list.

I run several hundred sites, I have over 500 domain names and at least 50-60% of them are active sites.

How do you guys find the time to update over 20 to 30 blogs?

Automation is your friend! I use Blogs Organizer and successfully run over 100 blogs. I use Site Organizer to run over 60 TGP sites. I use other scripts to run various directories, build galleries, split / join videos, submit sites, update twitter and social networking sites, update paysites, do features, do mailers, etc...

I honestly believe that its a numbers game, the more you have out there the better your chance of making sales and earning a decent living. And the only way to do this is by automating. With the right mix of hand-written information, automation tools and a good scheduling system you can target hundreds of different keywords and niche markets, capturing top spots for very different searches and links, therefore making more money. And the bonus of it all is that you can go away for a month and your automated systems will still make good money.
