Two WP experts have posted and yet
I still wonder
Is it safe to upgrade or should I wait a week or two?
I just did the upgrade in like less than 10 seconds using the auto update feature. If you have wp-backup plugin installed, then do that first, then do the upgrade.

lol far from an expert. I upgraded about 4 so far today, and yeah, always a good idea to upgrade when you can, within a few days anyhow.
It has some core changes, as usual, and as Bec said, upgrade the db first, then hit the auto upgrade and it should be a cakewalk.
With 2.8 you get the same functionality with themes as you have with plugins, so that is a plus if you are a theme a holic.
No problems so far for me either, btw.

I like v8.0. It loads and publishes faster than 2.7.1 that's for sure. There were a few different things which took a couple of minutes to get used to, but yeah, I like it a lot.
