Check fraud seems to be UP a whole lot... Just got hit with nearly $200 of revoked/dishonered checks at puppycash.:bang:

Anybody else care to share recent experiences?

I haven't offered check options for ages. They take a week to get bounced, and meanwhile the scumbag has had a full week's access for free.

Until they have some way for instant available funds verification, not even going to consider using them.

Oh, and as a closing thought, with 99% of all banks offering debit cards with their checking accounts, my theory is that the only ones using online checks to buy porn memberships are doing it cuz they know how to work the system and get something for free.

I was told by one of my major sponsors that most of my refunds are indeed from cheques and not credit card chargebacks.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone bothers with them any more.

When a check subscription sticks, they can last for ages. I just never found it worth the huge percentage that are bad. Maybe its just greed, hoping for one or two that stick.

We stopped offering a check option within the first few months of our launch. We had a good 75% of them bounce.

me, too - we were seeing up to 40% of our checks return, and affiilates weren't really understanding they the money kept disappearing.

i guess i don't really understand why checks take between 2 and 7 days to return NSF.

We accepted checks for about one month over a year ago...nightmare.

Checks have never been the best online payment method. The card associations are the currency of the Internet and I don't really see that changing.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if online check payments disappear completely.
