Out of curiosity . . . what is a good number of members for a pay site?

is 5000 members a decent number?

I only ask because I have no sense of what people are reasonably shooting for.

depends on the niche so without any further specifications its impossible to tell if 5000 is a decent number..

am sure someone running a niche site might be happy with a lower number where high quality non niche sites wouldnt..

assuming a non-niche, standard, college aged guys, and usual vanilla action (solo, fuck scenes, etc)

I'm just curious because I did an analysis of the number of recurring memberships bought vs the number that actually rebill. I'd be interested to know what "good" retention numbers are for a site: 1000 a month, 5000 a month, 10,000 a month. I know more is better, but what is typical?

I think (and hope) this is general enough to not violate the "you don't ask people how many members they have" rule.

Good luck getting a straight answer from any pay site owner. It'll seriously never happen. rofl

Well said Seth!

There are bullshit answers here but the truth is that a good membership count is the number that supports the lifestyle you feel comfortable with... period.

If you are greedy the number will be higher. If I had 5,000 members @ $24.95 a month I'd be making over $124,750 a month.... well over $1 million a year... which is far above exceptional and far exceeds a "good membership count"
