Which makes more $$

Just wondering what everyone thinks makes more $$. A medium/large site that accepts submitted galleries OR a small/medium site with 100% FHG's??

The site that accepts submissions obviously has more traffic, but if a majority of the thumbs link to galleries owned by the submitters, how much $ are you really making? Do you think banners/upsells really make more $ than galleries?

Just wondering.

I dont know actually, i've never allowed submissions on my TGP galleries and only using FHG.

But because of that I dont think they can ever get as big or sell as much as a good TGP which accepts submissions. They seem to have so much more traffic which makes up for any loss in sales due to others galleries.. atleast thats how i presume it is.

Then again I only use TGP galleries as extension or added extra to my sites to get more bookmarkers.

TGP surfers and normal surfers seems to be very different people.

custom galleries or else carefully chosen sponsor fhg's would be my first two choices. of course, either of these are more work for the tgp owner...

That is very true from what I have noticed also..

I think it all depends on what the purpose of your TGP is going to be.

Mine are mostly to generate traffic to a domain, use FHG's and do not accept submissions.. And maybe I get lucky sometimes and get a sale *YAY*

I think if you are open for submissions then you have to make sure you submit some of your own galleries now and then at least in with the other submitted thumbs, to keep in the running as it were..

But in this case your main target for your own sales would be via the use of sponsor ads throughout the page / site ..

That takes trial and error to achieve results.

Just got to experiment really Chubbs what works for one don't work for another all the time :)

I would say a TGP w/ 100% custom galleries designed by a good designer.
