Folks, we're easily building a structure here that cannot be supported... Let's keep it to a few threads, and tolerate some drift.
(my example for a successful high-volume board would be www.pprune.org - which supports ~ 10,000 users/minute)

Id be interested to hear what admins want on this. I would have thought that to get a new board going, you want lots of new threads for people to see when they visit, and get involved with. If people see a board with only a few threads they will be less likely to stick arround?

Concerning the boards -
Announcements/Spam - I like as it keeps the announcements in their own place for webmasters to check out later.
Buy/Sell - I sold my domains already. If they were lumped on page 5 of the main board, not sure I would have.
Now, I would like the blogs/Tgp broken up.

Folks,
I simply wanted to keep the actual number of threads down, so that we can all find things. It's grown to 3+ pages, with such a number of different threads that it's getting hard to keep up with.
Are there even 10,000 quality gay porn Webmasters in the biz?
I suspect there are, but obviously most of 'em are keeping their lights under a bushel.

Go To Gaydemon.Biz > User Control Panel > Edit Options
and scroll down to "Thread Options" - there's a drop down box where you can select up to 40 msgs per page.

since this is a matter of personal taste, i think more community members should be asked whether we should increase the number of posts per page. i sort of like the pages not being tooo long.

I really think that a new board NEEDS lots of threads. People will look at the board, and decide if they want to register and post. The more threads, the busier it looks, and also the more threads, the higher the chance of them finding that one thread that they want to reply to, which gets them to register and with any luck, get involved.

You can see as many posts per page as you wanna - set it up through your profile.

I really think that a new board NEEDS lots of threads.
Lots of threads will build traffic for a while, but there comes a point when we need to start thinking about the folks who are making their first visits.
If it gets to 10 or 12 pages of topics, I can almost guarantee you that most of us adult webmasters will see it as being too involved.
IMPORTANT---
We're growing a resource here, and we're the folks on the ground first. There really isn't a truly good gay webmaster forum
(I'll accept NO DEBATE on this point, consider it my opine)
and I think we have the chance to grow one here.
Let's all try to make it the best - that's all I'm suggesting.
Keep it simple.
