Anyone got any idea what the next big thing or new trend might be?
Social networks has been pretty big for a while now, so has tube sites.
I havent really seen anything new starting to emerge yet myself, but then I might just not be looking in the right places..

Will this not break the Hell out of the new 2257 Laws 'Digg ' its kind of like a torent in a way as contnet is submitted from random peopole with out 2257, CP laws, or ownership being a worry.
Not sure I see this getting all that big, or not in the US anyway

Also 'Majority Rules' is a boring way to do anything, and the 'Majority' will soon get sick of thier own 'rule' and lose interest quick.

Tubes cant be 2257 compliant, at least not tubes using sponsor content or user submitted content. To be frank, I dont think the rest of the world really cares about 2257 that much, I know I sure as hell dont. Actually none of my sites are compliant these days as they nearly all use sponsor content and sponsors dont give out docs.

Yes tubes can be 2257 compliant using sponsor content, thats part of what they are going to do. sponsor's will give out docs or I would not work with them and give others the sales/traffic

So far, my experience with porn Digg sites (porn social bookmarking) is that they are a big bust. I get so few hits back from the sites.
They basically seem to be adult webmasters posting links to their galleries, blogs, or blog entries. They don't get many diggs (bumps). They're sweet in that they usually do not require a recip link. But they may end up like FFA's (free for all advertising sites); webmasters love them, but surfers never visit.

I wonder what the overhead of a 2257 compliant tube site would be. I know that AEBN demands a lot of documentation before it allows sites to post their videos. On the tube end, they would also have to deal with truly amateur video -- I have a cam and a dildo, let's put on a show! :D
Of course, non-US based tube sites wouldn't have that problem.

They all work the same way and I got to agree with Fister, it wont work as well as a non porn Digg site. The model just isnt suited for porn. I did think myself of trying it out, but however you look at it, it will end up becoming a big spam list. And without any user interaction those lists are worthless.

I think the trend over the next year will be a niching out of these social networking sites, where we will see niche tubes, niche bookmarking, etc, folded together to make niche specific social portals. This has already started, but I think this year we will see traffic filtered and focused. Also, I see a lot of convergence of other types of sites too, like TGPs that use blogging technology or linklists with tubes and forums.

I agree with Luke that the emergence of niched portal tube sites will be a growing trend. Hi quality VOD and download to own movies is also a blossoming industry. As a whole the saturation of free porn is also emerging. I still believe that a surfer will pay for the "best". Delivering a superior quality product to a highly targeted audience will be enough for us all to retire.
To sum up this whole post in two words - "Niche Video"
