I only use photoshop for basic stuff (thumbs, photo adjustments, cropping, etc.) these days since I outsource all design work.
Today I ran across a totally free online graphics editor that does everything I need and more including resizing, cropping, color adjustments, contrast, brightness, rotation, basic animation, etc., at http://www.picnik.com
I don't think I need photoshop anymore!

Well so far the only draw backs I can see is that you can't "create" an image from nothing, you have to upload something to edit or create anything. It also does not allow any layering in this version but something like a simple photo banner with text over it will work just fine.
I suggest you to check gimp (gimp.org). It is opensource and free and support lots of the photoshop features (including some of the more advanced)

Yeah, I agree, Gimp is great, but I wanted an online graphics package. I like to stay pretty mobile so i can sit at almost any computer and do basic operations without having to worry about software installs.
This one seems to fit the bill for what I was looking for.

i don't care for gimp for my photos as it removes the ISO information.
tom, how does picnic compare to irfanview?

EXIF handling
In Chapter 2 I mention that a few versions of GIMP had bugs with EXIF handling. This no longer seems to be a problem; current versions of GIMP 2.3 preserve EXIF just fine. If you're having problems with EXIF preservation, or if you're seeing crashes when opening or saving JPEG files, check your version of libexif (which is separate from GIMP) and see if it's the newest available.
Save XMP is now a separate option from Save EXIF in the JPEG Advanced Preferences area.

I think IRFanview is similar to Gimp in functionality as it too is a download type program.
I think PicNik is the best online graphics program (no dowload needed) I have seen so far but there are others...and darned if photoshop did not annouce their own online photo editor today....

Oh I've used picnik to make changes to my flickr pictures. Just the free option is awesome. I bet the paid version is even better.
