Just wondering if you guys still do link exchanges as you did a couple of years before.. Do you still actively try and find people to exchange links with? Do you accept / seek out exchanges based on Google PR?

Have you changed how you exchange links, if so how?

I found that I don't do many, at least not for gaydemon. For the new sites I still do a few but not as many as I would have done in the past. I'm not sure if it helps as much as it used to.

The few exchanges I do are far more strategic and for sub pages deeper in my sites rather than the old main index page exchange.

How do you link now?

i take the links i can get basically...

i figured that we all have to start somewhere so excluding people due to PR etc is ok for some but not for me... am simply not big enough to do that yet - so for me its more important that the link i get will be able to send some traffic into my network somehow...

I am more concerned with sites that I think are authorities than I am PR. I would much prefer a good link with good anchor text from a site in a niche I am in than just a random link from a higher PR site. I am just not seeing the PR/SERP relationship that existed a while ago.

I used to trade with lots of people, but not anymore. Currently, there is only a small group of webmasters I am trading links with. These webmasters have to be in this industry for at least 1 year (preferably longer) OR have a good reputation on the boards.

PR is not that important to me - however I am not accepting trades with PR0 sites.
