Hi guys,

A brand new Butch Dixon just ripped me a new asshole because he says it takes too long to download a high-quality video. I just did a test and it took me 6 minutes to download a 211mb video. I don't think that's a huge amount of time.

Have you heard of issues with Verizon capping or throttling bandwidth with their customers? Or any issues with Verizon at all?

Thanks
Michael

I have heard nothing but good things about Verizon's service.

There are some people that would think that 30 seconds is too long to wait for porn that they paid for let alone 6 minutes. High speed internet has made people even more impatient then they already were 5 years ago.

Maybe we should remind them of the days it took 2 minutes to download 1 crappy quality gif or bmp file from a alt.newsgroup on a 14.4 modem.

Verizon's entry level dsl is very slow. Not sure if that is the issue.

ALL of the major providers in North America are throttling their services if they think that a customer is a major downloader.

Rogers is, Shaw is, Verizon is...

It is possible that this customer downloads a lot of content and gets his bandwidth throttled while doing it.

My home speed is about 9500kbps, but if we are doing heavy downloads/uploads we can lose more than half of that.
