hey guys...just re-designed my site and wanted to know if the videos are streaming/downloading properly before i go online. can you please let me know if you're able to download/stream the trailers on this page: http://dixter.com/sdepth/backup/test/sd3.php?show=tour&videoset=58&section=1

and what browser are you using?

thanks

allan

There seems to be no true streaming clip on that page you gave. There are links to the Real and WMV files. If I click on the WMV file, it opens my Windows Media Player, then buffer the clips for a while then plays it (while finishing to download).

I dont think thats streaming in its true sense, rather its just doing what Windows Media player should or is designed to do.

(I use Windows Vista with IE7)

The page looks very nice though!

Is there a video on the page itself though? Or do you have to click real or wmv? I think might have to clarify that so we know what to look for.

not streaming for me, either - the videos have to fully download before they play.

I'm on FF for Mac. When I click on the .mov option I got if I wanted to save it on disk or if I wanted to open it with an application. Firefox usually shows Quicktime movies in the browser window, so something is messed up. I'm guessing it's the HTTP response header served by Apache, but not sure.

i'm referring to the "view trailer" links for Quicktime and WMV, right under the main image on the left

is that normal for you for videos to fully download before they play? or is there something off about there vids?

thanks!

I'm on Mac with FF and they download to my movies folder, launch a player and play in both cases. They don't stream on the page. I just depends on what you are intending for them to do.

not with wmvs, no. it's not horribly abnormal, but i don't recall every having it happen on a trailer and not very often in a member area.

They can either stream or download. Like AlexManifestMan said, it depends on what you intend to have them do.

On IE 7 with WMP 11 they do play. It is progressive rather than actual streaming though. It is a progressive download but it only buffers for about 3 seconds and then begins to play after launching WMP.
