How many pictures in a blog post?

Just wondering how you guys do that? I usually use three, but I wonder if maybe 1-2 would be enough? Anyone ever tried running any tests?

For me collages work best, three or four seperate pictures does work on some blogs as well. Using one or two images never did me any good.

I don't use collage as I believe using different images is better for SEO. I usually use 4-7.

we don't follow any rules on our blog - actually, we've never followed any porn industry standards or rules -

and we don't get any complaints from readers but we do get lots of traffic to our blog ( http://barebackmasters.com/blog/ ) - sorry for the shameless plug but nobody else is gonna do it for me... :)

the only complaints we get on pics is from some picture nabbers from time to time who wish the photos were bigger! sheesh !!!

we usually include anywhere between 2-3 pics - generally in the 350-450 width range, and I sometimes put up landscapes (wide and narrow at about 600w) and sometimes run filmstrips (600w total for 3 images)

some of the images are fantastic - and some shitty - we're chronicling our lives so the pics are what they are - professionally shot, snap shots, vidcaps and everything in between...

do remember to watermark your pics and embed a copyright that will follow the images wherever they may go...

some people who seem to get great conversions might have 6 to 10 pics, others use 2 or 3. on the gaydemon blog and my own i use 3 to 6 depending on the pics.
