That's no fun. One good excuse to get a ton of guilt free rest! Get plenty. The best way to heal is to let your body work its magic. Feel Better!

That sucks! I have been putting off going to the dentist since I KNOW that I am going to have to have some work done and I have a phobia of dentists (all those needles and drills)!
Hope you have a speedy recovery!
Ugh, I hate going to the dentist! My thoughts will be with you for a speedy recovery.

You're in my thoughts. The dentist isn't really a bad place for me, my dentist is HOT! I totally focus on the naughty thoughts about him running through my head and it helps me forget that he's irrigating my gum line or that I'm gonna have hyper sensitive teeth for the next four days after the bleaching treatment. I've had braces TWICE and jaw surgery just 2 years ago, so I am a regular in my dentist's office.
BTW, anyone with a serious phobia of the dentist, they have this new fabulous lil pill out that you take 30 mins. before your office visit and you don't "wake up" until you are back home and resting. You are awake and can talk the whole time, barring hands in your mouth, but you don't remember a thing. Just make sure you know and trust your dentist so you don't wake up with that freshly "used" feeling!

I had braces for FIVE YEARS, had a root canal, and a crown inserted. So I sympathize with you Pat. Though I never had any problems, I just thought of pleasant thoughts while I was in the chair. Good luck and have a speedy recovery.

thanks for all the good wishes - i'll be back for light duty today.
btw, if you put off going to the dentist, please don't. my putting it off due to dental phobia is what lead me to this, and believe me - i wish i had gone regularly. a few fillings or whatever would have been much easier than yesterday. from here on out, cleanings every 3 months, deep cleaning annually!

and that anti-plaque rinse is good too and avoid caramels and salt water taffy
I had braces for 8 years and had to have 4 teeth extracted for that - then, I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed
then, a hell of a lot of fillings and crowns - then, I had a bone graft on one of my molars which was eventually extracted - then I had 4 additional teeth pulled, 9 root canals... (anybody doing the math yet) and bridges, partials and god knows how many crowns...
and I'm going in on Tuesday to have some cosmetic surface work done on an eye tooth...
teeth are an ongoing project with me - at least jello comes in pretty colors and many flavors
