I have really bad "static energy" in my office. Whenever I touch a doorknob or something metal I seem to get shocked.
Does anyone have any solutions for this?

The humidity is too low in the room. You could get a humidifier.
There are some household things you could try. Something with mixing water and fabreeze or soemthing and spray it on the carpet.
