Does anyone here use Time Capsule? I was looking into it today for my Mac and I think it looks awesome. Was wondering if anyone here had a Mac and used it. I seem to remember someone somewhere did...but I can't remember which board and who did, and if they thought it was good or bad.
If not, can anyone else recommend a good automated backup system that they have personally used and think is good?

PS: I would really love the external back up drive to be wireless also if possible.

yeah, it looks great even though I haven't installed Leopard yet on our system - I watched the demo in SF prior to the launch last year
they're asking for a dedicated terabyte drive for each one of our CPUs which we haven't purchased yet
the thing that's amazing is being able to access ALL files you've worked on from the time you start the thing up
I always try to do my system upgrade during some down time in case we experience problems - and I do it on each CPU methodically, one by one over time. Problem is, we never have any down time to do the upgrades
maybe this is a good weekend for it...thanks for reminding me
oh yeah, we were using something called "backup" by retrospect for a long while - can be set-up to archive in all kinds of different configurations

yes I do and yes it is great. I have used it for about a month and so far have been able to retrieve one video and several emails that I tossed but shouldn't have.
Get a 1.5Tb external drive for your back ups and you will be a happy man.

that's good to know - we've heard that they're are issues with wireless ...
we're still hardwired so I know we'll be ok

Thats what bothers/scares me a little. I am thinking about going wireless with Time Capsule right after the forum (need a few more CCBill checks to pay for the thing) so I will let everyone know how it works wireless wise.

This G5 is so friggin heavy that it wont move anywhere (it is not like I would tote it around the house) so I am hardwired. Besides, I like being surrounded by all these blinking lights. It is all very space ship like in here at night. I am too old school to be comfortable with wireless handling my back-ups anyway.

yeah - I know what you mean - all the lights are very cool - specially the ones that glow and pulse and spin around
