What do you guys do for all your passwords for all your sites you visit?
I have a biometric usb key that stores them all. So I visit a site and swipe my finger and it enters my login details.
I love it, the only problem is that it doesn't work in FF. I have a few pages that I have to use in FF, and I made all my passwords random 14 char crap.
So what do you do with your passwords? Do you allow the browser to store them? Do you write them down?

roboform2go does a nice job of storing passwords encrypted on a USB memory key, and it works with firefox.

I use the same password for everything. Email, bank accounts, porn...etc. Is that wrong?
I actually keep a binder next to my computer. That biometric usb thing sounds cool. Got a link to where you got it?

it's SO wrong!
we used to do that. then a disgruntled employee from one place was able to access several of our more obvious accounts and arranged that we wouldn't be paid by putting in a bs address in our account info. an asshole with a halfassed job somewhere where you have a login can guess your bank and mess things up. and of course, i don't know how many people come to where your computer lives, but a binder is awfully easy to read.
i also recommend roboform or roboform2go. you can keep it in an ecrypted folder on any flash drive. or you can just password protect everything using roboform's own thing.

Good point. I guess since it is just me and matt and our two wiener dogs, I never gave it much thought...but you are right, anyone could get into our house and steal our binder or sneak a peak during a party, etc.
I will look into this roboform thing. I really like the idea a secure USB. I use USB drives all the time, and always worry about what if I lost one. Someone would be in for a shock. ;O)
Thanks for the advice.

I am very old fashioned - I just store them in my brain ...

you either have a much better memory than i do or else have less logins. i have different logins to over 500 - probably closer to 1000 - affiliate programs, software companies, online stores, support desks, email boxes, control panels and banks.

Bloody Hell! Whatever you do don't let this dang blasted Norton thing do it. Norton came with my new laptop and has identity protect. What a POS. It has blocked my ccbill id way too many times.

I just use a small spiral notebook. Lots are stored in the browser, but they're written down just in case.

Yes, I think it is portable from computer to computer, since the actual program is stored on the flash device and it auto-runs that program & inserts the firefox extension the moment it is plugged in.

My laptop has fingerprint recognition. You store your password in some software (Verisoft Password Manager) and scan your finger when you come to a login page. Very reliable - I tested its reliability with everyones fingers haha!

Make an uncrackable "system" for userids and passwords.
Something like:
The first 3 letters of your pet's name
followed by the com or net TLD
followed by the 2nd 3rd and 4th letter of the site name
followed by a G for gay site or S for straight
followed by the number 6
once you get that system clear in your head you'll know your userid and your password for anything no matter when you last saw it and what the site is about. It works for 1000s of sites as easily as it does for a few sites.
Memorize the system not the user/pass.
