Ok. let's assume that someone wanted to start a TGP/MGP and wanted to do it right. So, no FREE Smart Thumbs with a skim. What would the total cost be? As I see it, one would need the following.

1. Domain name.
2. Script to run the TGP/MGP
3. A design.
4. Trading script.
5. Initial buy of traffic.

So, what would the total cost be approximately? And of those that attempted to start one, what percentage do you feel would make back their money. If they make back their money, how long would it take?

Also, assume it's a tgp that doesn't accept submitters.

You mentioned "wanting to do it right", so you should get some good quality scripts.

1. less than $20
2. TGPX from JMBSoft $90
3. around $200
4. TradeExpert $400
5. BuyGayTraffic has a $150 package

If you're not accepting submitters and relying solely on bought traffic, I dont see how this would be viable.

Making your money back will also depend on the quality of the galleries on your site. If its just the same fhg's that are on dozens of other sites, I think it will be tough to break even.

When starting your 1st tgp this is what you should expect to spend, scripts are a little expensive but worth every penny. Also, they give discounts when you come back to buy more so launching your 2nd, 3rd, etc. tgp's costs less.

1. Domain: $9
2. Thumbs script: $250 (smart thumbs)
3. Design: $150-200
4. Trade script: $400 (ATX)
5. Feeder traffic: $1-300 (depends on how long you want to feed for)

I use 95% fhg's and 5% my own custom galleries in all 30 of my sites. I feed at 50-100 hits per hour for a week or so. Have never accepted a single submitted gallery in 4 years. My sites do relatively well. They are 3-15k, 180-250% prod, and profitable. Not huge by any means but 100% of the traffic is mine. I went with many small sites vs. 1 big site.

I have a site in the works due to go live any day now that will show you exactly how profitable.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. What is the REALISTIC cost of the startup traffic? Even $300 seems low from my past experience.

Like I said, it just depends on how long you want to feed the site for. I usually feed for about a week.

100/hour x 24 hours = 2400/day x 5 days = 12,000

50/hour x 24 hours = 1200/day x 1 day = 1200

25/hour x 24 hours = 600/day x1 day = 600

12000+1200+600= 13,800

You can get 25k hits from buygaytraffic for $150 so you could either up the amount you feed or stretch it out for more than a week.

180-250% prod

What does this mean please?

What does this mean please?

Average clicks for each user in percentage.

n° clicks / n° users

1 click : 1 user = 100%

10 clicks : 10 users = 100%

20 clicks : 10 users = 200%

What does this mean please?

What Insane said. If I am not mistaken it means how many times a person clicks a gallery. Just in a ratio (%).

So a 185% prod would be each surfer clicking to a gal 1.85 times etc. Correct me if I am wrong.

So prod if 200% would be each surfer clicking 2 different galleries then leaving?

Clicking on thumbs instead of clicking on galleries sounds better. But the raw concept is ok.

Leaving or giving up click. The reasons could be various: skimmed traffic, not interesting contents and so on. Usually higher skim means higher prod but it's not a rule.

What are some other good places to get pay traffic for this kind of stuff? I understand U have to trade traffic too, but where do I find others to trade with? Would like to play with one, so I better understand FHG's

For buying traffic 1 of the most popular places is buygaytraffic.com

For finding people to trade with, what I did when I started is go to one the big, popular and reputable tgp's and go through his toplist. Every site he is trading with will have a "trade traffic" link at the bottom.
